EDRS PRICE MF-$0.65 HC-$6.58 DESCRIPTORS Committees; *Environmental Education; *Federal Legislation;- Financial Support; *Reports IDENTIFIERS *Environmental Education Act of '.1970 ABSTRACT Presented in this builetin is the text of the hearings before the Select Subcommittee on Education of the Committee on Education and Labor concerning a bill to extend the Environiental Education Act of 1970 for three years (HR 3927). Thehearings were held April 17, May 15 and 17, 1973, to provide an opportunity for individuals from the public, educational community, and environmental groups as well as officials of the administration to express their views on the bill. Chairman Jahn Brademas prefaced initial statements by pointing out that the current administration requested no funds for the implementation of the Act in 1971; delayed establishing the Advisory Council, mandated by law, for a full 12 months after the measure was enacted; and delayed, also for a full year, establishing the Office of Environmental Education required by the Act. Also, that the administration has tried to hamstring the Office of Environmental Education in the Office of Education with redtape and a variety of bureaucratic strategies and has provided no money for the Office of Environmental Education in the proposed 1974 budget, virtually killing the modest program. MUZ-TV Music Awards is the channel's flagship event and every time it is a mesmerizing show using completely new staging approaches in world practice customized for every performance of artists’ hit songs. Each act is a thoroughly staged storyline, graphical, provocative and sometimes absurd, with an ultra-modern light show and impressive three- dimensional decisions in directing.
