February7, 2019 Toyota Motor Corporation GAZOO Racing Company TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Outlines 2019 Motorsports Activities TOYOTA GAZOO Racing is a racing company positioning motorsports activities as the basis of our quest to create ever-better cars. From products developed through these activities to the establishment of the GR Garage, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s motorsports activities have been promoted as a comprehensive method of increasing numbers of car fans. At last month’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we unveiled the new “Supra,” which is set to become the first global model in the GR series line-up. The new Supra incorporates the knowledge and know-how that TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has accumulated thus far, and has been developed with the goal of enabling customers to fully experience the joy of driving. We have positioned the new Supra as our flagship model and, by feeding back knowledge gained through motorsports activities into the development of new products, we intend to further expand the GR series line-up. In 2018, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing achieved the long-desired goal of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and also secured the WRC manufacturers’ title, demonstrating that the challenges we have embarked on are leading to concrete results. However, we will not rest on our laurels. In order to deliver the anticipation and excitement of driving to a wider audience, we will engage in the motorsports activities listed below in 2019. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will compete in the 2019-2020 WEC season. (The driver line-up will be announced at a later date.)With team line-ups, we will also compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race and other races in Japan respectively.

The calendar has been finalised and the tracks booked and HRC are just waiting to finalise with the classes what events they wish to run at before we announce the full list of classes running at each event. Some events are already full with eleven classes which is really the limit we can run at a two day meeting. Some interesting projects coming up including a possible new motoring TV show (f we can get support) and a rerun of the B & H 500. HRC are endeavouring to run Classic meetings and Mixed Meetings as separate events with the classic meetings with older cars and hopefully cars with COD’s. Unfortunately for commercial reasons we have to have some non-classic classes at these meeting to make them viable. The classic meetings are the Icebreaker 28/29th September Hampton Downs, Tasman Revival Hampton Downs 25/26th January, Tasman Revival Pukekohe 22/23rd February, Paul Fahey NZ Legends of Speed 21/22nd March Hampton Downs, Jack Nazer Classic Taupo 25/26th April. At these we will run BMW classes and ERC and while COD’s for these classes are not mandatory the cars competing in most cases could get COD’s. Race meeting organisers do need classes to combine as entry fees cannot keep rising.

  • 2000 TOYOTA CELICA GT the Seventh-Generation Celica Comes with a New Platform, New Engines, a New, Six-Speed Manual Gearbox
2000 TOYOTA CELICA GT The seventh-generation Celica comes with a new platform, new engines, a new, six-speed manual gearbox for the GT-S version, and more. The Celica is shorter and narrower than before, but has a longer wheelbase. Overall height is unchanged. Interior and trunk No one will be surprised by the fact that getting in and out of the Celica requires a degree of flexibility. The bucket seats are very comfortable and have good side support. Some drivers may find that foot room is tight but the driving position is otherwise excellent. The seat belts are not height adjustable. The rear seat is barely useable, even by very small people. The 50/50 split seatback folds to provide more room for cargo. The front seatbacks do not return to their original position and have to be readjusted each time they are folded forward. Liftover to the roomy trunk is high, and the rear hatch does not open high enough to safely clear the head of tall individual. Safety and convenience Though interior finish is excellent, road- and engine-noise suppression leaves much to be desired. The new Celica is quieter than before, but even if it is sports car, it should filter out more of this type of noise. On the other hand, the click of the turn signals is barely audible, and should be louder. Instruments and controls are well laid-out but the cup holder behind the gearshift lever can be a nuisance, depending on the size of the beverage container. There are lots of roomy storage spaces, and both the climate control and sound systems work very well.

  • Porsche 919 Hybrid English.Indd
Porsche 919 Hybrid Return to top-level sport Porsche is making its comeback to the top-level motorsport arena: with the new 919 Hybrid the sports car brand is sending a platform for pioneering technology to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the undisputed seasonal highlight of the 24-hour Le Mans race. Porsche's reputation precedes it at this venue: with 16 overall victories under its belt, the brand holds the record for this, the most famous endurance race in the world. In 2014 Porsche is returning to the top-level class endurance race after a 16-year absence - namely Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1). Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explains: "The new and revolutionary efficiency regulations for this class were what prompted us to take this step. In 2014 it is not going to be the fastest contender who is going to win the sports car world championship and Le Mans, but the car that gets furthest with the defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that the automotive industry has to face. The 919 Hybrid is like a high speed research laboratory and the most complex racing car Porsche has ever built." The new WEC regulations for the LMP1 racing car gives engineers an unusual amount of leeway and demands pioneering technology, such as hybridisation, downsizing engines and consistent lightweight construction. This is all particularly relevant for the development of future generations of factory-spec sports cars. Maximum sporting performance and highest efficiency are at the heart of "Porsche Intelligent Performance".

2017 86 The legend comes home. The 2017 Toyota 86. For decades, icons like the 2000GT, Sports 800 and AE86 Corolla have cemented Toyota’s enthusiast cred, earning accolades on the racetrack and respect on the streets. We took this performance DNA and mixed it with modern-day, race-proven engineering to create our purest sports car yet — the 2017 Toyota 86. The successor to the legendary AE86 Hachi Roku Corolla, the latest 86 epitomizes everything a sports car should be. Its lightweight body helps extract each ounce of performance, and the Rear-Wheel Drive chassis and dynamic handling helps you attack those corners on track day with confidence. It’s time to celebrate driving. Let’s fire it up. 86 shown in Ablaze and Oceanic. PERFORMANCE/HANDLING 86 shown in Ablaze and Oceanic. PERFORMANCE/HANDLING Born on the track. Bred for the streets. To be quick, one has to be balanced. Each facet of performance — speed, braking, handling — needs to unite in harmony in order to deliver maximum thrills. And with the 2017 Toyota 86, each aspect was carefully engineered to unite driver, car and road. Smart design and cutting-edge materials help make the body of 86 light and strong, helping boost efficiency and overall performance. This design also places the 2.0-liter Boxer engine low to the ground, helping optimize the center of gravity and front/rear weight distribution. It’s a platform built for racing, but still civilized on the streets, and it gives you the best of all worlds. The road is calling — let’s go.
