Tasting Notes: 92 pts from Wine Advocate! The 2012 Romanico is made from 100% Tinta de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo), and is aged for six months in a combination of new and used French oak. Malolactic fermentation is done in oak, and the result is full-bodied wine with superb richness as well as lots of blackberry, charcoal and cassis intermixed with roasted herbs, creamy baking spices and woodfire smoke. This red should drink beautifully for 7-10 years.

Tasting Notes: A BEVERAGE WAREHOUSE STAFF FAVORITE!! The base of this wine is the traditional cherries Visciola, an ancient variety of wild cherry (Prunus cerasus) of a dark red color and sour flavor. The historic recipe consists of gathering the cherries in the first week of July and allowing them to macerate whole and partly crushed with sugar, triggering a fermentation process that slowly produces a final syrup, soft and fragrant. The nose is intense and rich, with sensual notes of purple flowers and scents of ripe, pulpy red fruits. The taste is captivating, tangy and fresh with floral notes and a well- defined savour of sweet cherry, blackberry and blueberry jam. An intriguing wine, inviting you to sip more and more, it would be perfect with a bitter chocolate dessert.
