Issue N°140. 07/05/12 Industry Monitor The EUROCONTROL bulletin on air transport trends European flights decreased by 2.7% in March. The charter segment continued to recover from EUROCONTROL statistics and forecasts 1 the Egyptian and Tunisian disruptions last year Other statistics and forecasts 2 and was up 11%. Passenger airlines 2 IATA reported an increase of 8.8% in demand in Environment 6 March 2012 for passenger traffic in Europe Oil 7 whereas freight traffic was down 2.2% on March 2011. Airports 7 Aircraft Manufacturing 8 Delta is the first airline to buy an oil refinery in an attempt to cut fuel costs by €230 million a Regulation 8 year. Cargo 9 Oil prices down to 91€/barrel in April. Fares 9 EUROCONTROL statistics and forecasts European flights decreased by 2.7% in March on the same month of 2011, with the underlying trend slightly higher, as the figure was affected by significant strike days in Cyprus, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain (see Figure 1). The charter segment continued to recover from the Egyptian and Tunisian disruptions last year and was up 11% in March, business aviation was up 0.7% whereas traditional scheduled, low-cost and all-cargo were down -3.4%, -2% and -8% respectively (EUROCONTROL, April). Based on preliminary data for delay from all causes, 31% of flights were delayed on departure in March, a 1 percentage point decrease and a return to the low levels observed in 2011. Analysis of delay causes contributing to the average delay per flight shows a notable increase in reactionary delay, with this cause experiencing a 48% share of total delay minutes for all- causes and an increase in its contribution to the average delay per flight of 3.8 minutes, up from 3.5 minutes in March 2011. -

The objective of this contribution is to report new records of one new and 145 rare moths and butterflies species in 35 administrative districts and municipalities of Lithuania from the years 2013–2014. Material and Methods The majority of the data was collected by the authors of this report T. Ūsaitis (T.Ū.), G. Švitra (G.Š.), V. Bačianskas (V.B.), R. Kinduris (R.K.), D. Dapkus (D.D.), D. Mikalauskas (D.Mik.) during field expeditions throughout Lithuania in 2013–2014. Standard entomological equipment and methods (netting and light trapping) were used. Part of the material was obtained using automatic light trap equipped with 250 W blended mercury lamp bulb. The trap was installed in Adomiškis village (Ukmergė distr.) and was operating in 2014 from August to the middle of October. For Jared, it was another fantastic top-eight finish and it was in the lesser of his two Olympic events. With the Olympic 50km event this week, Jared upped the ante even further, taking his second successive Olympic 50km silver medal and recording a 2+ minute PB time of 3:36:53, also breaking the Olympic record into the bargain. What a performance! Walker of the Week! 50KM MEN'S RACEWALK, OLYMPIC GAMES, THE MALL, LONDON, SATURDAY 11 AUGUST 2012 The men's Olympic 50km walk started at 9AM at the Mall in London and I was one of the many spectators who lined the 2km loop to cheer on the contestants. My report on the Men's 50km Race Walk is taken from that of Dave Martin for the IAAF (see http://www.iaaf.org/Mini/OLY12/News/NewsDetail.aspx?id=67421) Sergey Kirdyapkin, the man to be beaten having won the IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Saransk in May, shattered the existing record of 3:37:09 with a decisive victory. -

The New Ryanair Route Between Milan Bergamo and Tbilisi, Georgia, Takes Off
THE NEW RYANAIR ROUTE BETWEEN MILAN BERGAMO AND TBILISI, GEORGIA, TAKES OFF Today (6 November) Ryanair, the number one airline in Italy and Europe, launched the new route connecting Milan Bergamo and Tbilisi in Georgia with four weekly flights as part of the winter 2019 scheduling from Milan Bergamo Airport. For winter 2019, Ryanair will be covering 83 routes in total, of which 6 are brand new, and with 7 summer destinations extended for the first time to the winter months, transporting more than 11.1 million passengers to and from Milan Bergamo Airport this year. The routes being extended from the summer are Bremen (twice-weekly), Gothenburg (twice-weekly), Katowice (twice- weekly), Lappeenranta (twice-weekly), London Southend (three weekly flights), Santander (twice-weekly) and Sofia (daily). As well as Tbilisi (four weekly flights), the brand-new destinations are Agadir (twice-weekly), Aqaba (twice-weekly), Eilat Ramon (twice-weekly), Marseilles (four weekly flights) and Yerevan (twice-weekly, beginning 14 January). To celebrate this new route, Ryanair has launched a special offer for travellers departing from Milan Bergamo Airport. Passengers can book a flight from Milan Bergamo Airport to one of the 83 destinations proposed by the airline with fares as low as just € 14.99. The promotion, subject to availability, can be booked until Saturday (9 November) for departures until the end of March 2020 from the Ryanair website only.
