That the Central Executive:

1 (a) Note that in the 1970s the Central Council of the Party (then named the Australian Country Party (NSW)) ruled that membership of the far right Australian League of Rights is incompatible with Membership of this Party;

(b) Rule that involvement in the Lads Society, Squadron 88, The Dingoes, New Guard or Antipodean Resistance is incompatible with membership of the National Party of Australia – NSW;

2 Note that the Constitution & Ethics Committee received the following reference from the State Director (after he had received various complaints and correspondence), viz:

That the Constitution & Ethics Committee investigate and report upon indications that the National Party of Australia – NSW and the Young National Party of Australia – NSW have been infiltrated by far right extremists, and related matters;

3. Note that the State Director lodged a complaint under Rule 7.4.2 in relation to the general behaviour or writings of each of the Members listed on Annexure A which have been such as to:

(i) bring or attempt to bring discredit or undue embarrassment to the Party (Rule 7.4.2, National Party of Australia – NSW Constitution & Rules),

(ii) offends the following statement in “We Believe” (the Preamble to the Constitution & Rules):

We believe Australians, as individuals and as a nation, must be prepared to oppose social and political ideas that threaten freedom and democracy in Australia and throughout the world; and

(iii) offends the similarly worded provision in paragraph 2 of the Preamble to the Party’s Code of Conduct and Ethics;

4. Note that since the Constitution & Ethics Committee commenced its investigation into these matters, 19 members have resigned from the Party; and

5. Adopt the following recommendation:

That the State Director write to each of the members on Annexure A who have not resigned to advise them of the above complaints and request each of them to:

(a) either resign from the Party within seven (7) days; or, (b) within seven (7) days show cause why their membership should not be cancelled (Rule 7.4.1); and, further, that (c) the State Director inform each of those Members that if they do not resign or show cause within those seven (7) days, their membership shall be cancelled forthwith.

6. Adopt the following recommendation: Require that any future membership application from any of those listed on Annexure A be refused. (Rule 7.4.1).
