Over the many years at Treftz Limousin, we stand behind this motto: Develop a product you are passionate about. Commit to your product. Market your product. Stand behind your product. And most important, BELIEVE in your product. As a small breeder, our success must come by differentiating our product from others. We need to develop a product we truly believe will enhance your operation. We feel by using our purebred bulls on your English based cows, you will see the most hybrid vigor than at any point of the crossbreeding plane. The more diverse the genetics between the 2 breeds of cattle, the more bang you will receive from the cross. We’ve done it here on our own F1 baldie herd and it works. If you took an objective look at your calves in the fall and you came to the realization you need a shot of muscle and SALE performance, you need to be with us on February 13. For more than 35 years, we’ve selected cattle with those traits in mind CONSULTANT: amongst others such disposition, milk and fleshing ability. Fat can be fed on, muscle can’t. Using Treftz Limousin bulls will produce those wide topped calves with expressive hindquarters that will make you proud on sale day. If you take them to the next level and background or finish, you will be impressed with the conversion and efficiency where Limousin are second-to-none! We don’t show cattle; instead we try to produce females that will make functional brood cows that are ready to go to work. The open heifers in the sale are destined for that goal. Whether it’s calving, feeding, clipping, picturing or videoing, we KNOW these bulls and heifers! If there are any details, no matter how small you want to know, don’t hesitate to call prior to the sale. You will notice lots of photos in this catalog. KILEY MCKINNA We want to represent these cattle as best we can from a young age to sale day. Weather in our part of the country is very 402.350.3447 unpredictable in the winter so hopefully this will make your purchasing decisions easier in the event you can’t attend. We WILEY FANTA understand in these uncertain times your concern with your health. If you do decide to buy sight unseen, rest assured, your 320.287.0751 purchase is guaranteed to your liking or you don’t own it. 648 West Sawgrass Trail We highly recommend you insure your purchase on sale day as we all know the predicaments cattle can get into. He is one of the most memorable actors ever. He’s had hundreds of parts—leading parts in stuff like Reservoir Dogs, Ghost World, Boardwalk Empire. Iconic supporting parts in Fargo, The Sopranos, and—of course—30 Rock. So, we’ll skip the long intro and talk about his newest work. [Music fades out.] It’s a TV show called Miracle Workers, a comedy created by the hilarious Simon Rich—the same person behind Man Seeking Woman and a bunch of brilliantly written works you might have seen in The New Yorker, or on one of his many books, or heard on this show. Each season, Miracle Workers tells a different story with the same cast. Season one was set in Heaven, which is run kind of like a soulless megacorporation with an absentee CEO. Steve played God. Orphan, Adoptee, Nation: Tracing the Korean Orphan and Adoptee through South Korean and American National Narratives By Kira Ann Donnell A dissertation submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Ethnic Studies in the Graduate Division of the University of California, Berkeley Committee in charge: Professor Elaine H. Kim, Chair Professor Catherine Ceniza Choy Professor Jinsoo An Professor Grace J. Yoo Fall 2019 Abstract Orphan, Adoptee, Nation: Tracing the Korean Orphan and Adoptee through South Korean and American National Narratives by Kira Ann Donnell Doctor of Philosophy in Ethnic Studies University of California, Berkeley Professor Elaine H. Kim, Chair The transnational adoption industrial complex established between South Korea and the United States following the Korean War initiated what is sometimes called the “Quiet Migration.” Since then, over 200,000 Korean children have been sent abroad, and the transnational, transracial adoption industry has operations set up in dozens of developing countries worldwide which takes thousands of children annually from their natal homes and places them in adoptive families in Western countries. For the past seventy years, the figures of the Korean orphan and adoptee have held significant meaning in the imaginations of by South Korean and American citizens. The sentimental figure of the Korean orphan became the conduit through which both South Koreans and Americans defined their experiences in the Korean War. The transnational Korean adoptee has become an icon of the United States’ commitment to humanitarianism and diversity and South Korea’s modern branding as a sophisticated and internationally-networked nation. This dissertation explores how United States and South Korean culture and society have used the figures of the Korean orphan and Korean adoptee to construct national identities that reflect its citizens as virtuous, cosmopolitan, and unified.

The David and Barbara Pryor Center for Arkansas Oral and Visual History University of Arkansas 1 East Center Street Fayetteville, AR 72701 (479) 575-6829 Arkansas Memories Project John A. Ware Interviewed by Scott Lunsford February 18, 2011 Fayetteville, Arkansas Copyright 2012 Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas. All rights reserved. Objective Oral history is a collection of an individual's memories and opinions. As such, it is subject to the innate fallibility of memory and is susceptible to inaccuracy. All researchers using these interviews should be aware of this reality and are encouraged to seek corroborating documentation when using any oral history interview. The Pryor Center's objective is to collect audio and video recordings of interviews along with scanned images of family photographs and documents. These donated materials are carefully preserved, catalogued, and deposited in the Special Collections Department, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville. The transcripts, audio files, video highlight clips, and photographs are made available on the Pryor Center website at http://pryorcenter.uark.edu. The Pryor Center recommends that researchers utilize the audio recordings and highlight clips, in addition to the transcripts, to enhance their connection with the interviewee. Transcript Methodology The Pryor Center recognizes that we cannot reproduce the spoken word in a written document; however, we strive to produce a transcript that represents the characteristics and unique qualities of the interviewee's speech pattern, style of speech, regional dialect, and personality. For the first twenty minutes of the interview, we attempt to transcribe verbatim all words and utterances that are spoken, such as uhs and ahs, false starts, and repetitions.

PLAYING GUNS: AVANT-GARDE AESTHETICS AND REVOLUTIONARY VIOLENCE by Mike Strayer A dissertation submitted to Johns Hopkins University in conformity with the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Baltimore, Maryland March, 2014 Abstract Playing Guns theorizes the avant-gardes in relation to the following revolutionary movements from the extended Caribbean: the Mexican Revolution (Stridentism and Antonio Helú), the Cuban Revolution (Julio Cortázar), the Sandinista Revolution (Gioconda Belli), and post-NAFTA Mexico (Roberto Bolaño, Subcomandante Marcos and Paco Ignacio Taibo II). These examples, in turn, help elucidate the following theoretical-historical problems: the Caribbean and Latin America as privileged sites of revolt and revolution; human emancipation in relation to interpellation and agency; and practices of confrontation vis-à-vis practices of resistance. I argue that Latin American avant- garde artists, movements and institutions engage in a radical variant of what Rancière theorizes as aesthetic free play—an egalitarian rearranging of our common sensorium that overturns social hierarchies. By doing so, the avant- gardes “recognize,” in Althusserian terms, the actual interpenetration of life and art and thereby call into question certain caricatures of the avant-gardes as counterrevolutionary and politically vacuous. I then propose that free play propagates radical modes of being that can lead to forms of human emancipation as they confront—not resist as Foucault theorizes—interpellating hierarchies from peripheral positions proper to Latin America. William Egginton and Eduardo González served as advisors for this dissertation. ii Acknowledgments It would be the highest act of ingratitude not to thank my spunky and capable partner Chelsea Shields Strayer for pushing me in everything.
