Report on the Seminar which was held on 27/11/2019 at R.C., Durgapur in c/w “Sensitization programme on Quality Assurance for academic Administration of Learning Support Centres/Study Centres:

Dated : Durgapur, the 27th Nov,2019: A seminar was held on 27/11/2019 at RC, Durgapur on the aforesaid subject. The seminar was glorified with the gracious presence of Former Honble’ V.C. Prof. B. Venkaiah from Krishna University, in house Professors, higher officials and coordinators from different study centres. The list of Study Centres attended the program are as follows:

The session was started with the registration of the representative from the respective Study Centres. The entire session was conducted by Smt. Nilanjana Chatterjee, Assistant Diretor, Study Centre. At first Sri. Prosenjit Bhattyacharya, Deputy Director, Regional Centre gave a warm welcome to the respected guests and bade with flowers. After that Dr. Asit Baran Aich, Director , Study Centre elaborated in detail regarding working method of study centres, the role of study centres in NAAC assessment, how to stay in touch with the students. Then Former Honble’ V.C. Prof. B. Venkaiah from Krishna University, Hyderabad gave an detailed speech on Learner Support Centre (LSC), problem of LSC and necessity of ICT in modern education from his 30 years of vast experience. Prof. Manan Kr. Mondal, Director, School of Humanities gave a clear picture regarding NAAC and its assessment procedure, which is going to happen for the very first time in this University. He also narrated that NSOU is in a very prestigious position in respect of no. of teachers, students .Smt. Ananya Mitra, Dy. Director Admin ended this part of session with vote of thanks. During the main technical session Prof. Anirban Ghosh, Coordinator NAAC steering Committee & Director, SPS & SVS explained in detail about NAAC assessment and accreditation process. Sri. Madhurya may Das, Assistant Registrar, Study Centre revealed the changes in administration of LCSs/SCs as per UGC(ODL) Regulation 2017. Smt. Sudeshna Chatterjee (Biswas), Dy. Registrar Academic helped to conduct the entire technical session and narrated about two admission sessions ie, January and July in online mode. Then a few participants narrated their feelings regarding this programme and they whole heartedly supported the programme. Then Certificate of participation was distributed among the participants and programme was ended with formal vote of thanks.
