School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: 1. To enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching through the “student-centered” learning approach and to promote students’ self-directed learning. 2. To facilitate students’ development of positive values and attitudes and cultivate students’ positive outlook on life. School Management Organisation: Under the adoption of school-based management, the Principal and Vice-Principals cooperate with other departments and committees while discussing and making policies. Opinions from parents and students will also be sought. We adopt a school governance approach which is conducive to student centeredness and their balanced development of moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic well-being. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: The Incorporated Management Committee oversees the operation of the school as well as renders its support to school development. Through regular meetings with the Principal, teacher, parent and alumni representatives and school visits, members can keep track of and be consulted about the school development. School Green Policy: The Civic and Moral Education Committee is devoted in promoting environmental protection by organizing various programmes and activities. We have formulated policies and plans on environmental protection including installing smart water dispenser to reduce the wastage of single-use plastic bottles, placing 3-colour waste separation bins to reduce landfill waste, and implementing energy conservation policy to reduce energy use and carbon footprint. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: To further promote students' proficiency in Chinese and English, our school has implemented a new language policy in recent years. It is evident that the performance of our students in public examinations has been very encouraging. To provide a language-rich environment for students to become "bi-literate and tri-lingual", we organize weekly English morning assembly, Chinese and English choral speaking competitions, extensive reading schemes, multi-media learning activities, campus broadcast, English drama, debates, English Activity Lessons and Morning Reading Time, etc. In line with the "fine-tuning" of the language policy in secondary schools, English is used as the Medium of Instruction in some subjects of some classes. In all junior forms, Mathematics is taught in English and there are extended English learning activities to consolidate JS students' foundation in English (Includes Integrated Science, Computer Literacy, Geography, Economics, History, Visual Arts, Home Economics, P.E., Music, Design and technology, Physics, Biology and Chemistry). Students are then ready to switch to English-medium teaching in senior secondary. Learning and Teaching Strategies: Our school endeavours to provide an all-round education for students. In class, teachers employ questioning techniques and group discussions to motivate students to learn and participate actively. On top of the acquisition of knowledge and skills, our school strives to instill into our students social awareness, sense of responsibility, right sets of values as well as national identity. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Based on their competence and at their discretion, students can opt the two or three elective subjects. 2. Curriculum highlights: Our school boasts a diversified curriculum with 9 Elective subjects on offer and English-medium and Chinese-medium classes are available in many subjects. The various subject combinations also allow the flexibility for students to make the most appropriate choices based on their competence and talent and a balance between arts and science subjects can be achieved. Development of Key Tasks: To consolidate students' foundation knowledge, enhancement courses in English, Mathematics and other subjects are held after school. Teachers make book recommendations and share their reading experiences regularly. Reading is also enhanced through the Extensive Reading Schemes in the Chinese and English curriculums. Projectors, computers and audio-visual aids are installed in all classrooms to facilitate IT in teaching and learning. Various learning activities can be conducted through e-class in the Intranet. Our school promotes the importance of respect and responsibility through morning assemblies, mass programmes, monthly themes and voluntary work. Through discussions on current issues in class and in mass programmes, students' sense of civic responsibility and reflective capabilities are enhanced. The study trips to different countries help broaden students' horizons. In Junior forms, STEAM curriculum is set up with the collaboration of various subjects including Computer, Integrated Science, Design and Technology, Visual Art and Music. STEAM will be launched as an individual subject in future to further unleash students' technological innovation potentials. Career and Life Planning: Career & Life Planning Education has a long history in our school with the long standing school-based CLP curriculum. The teaching materials are systematically designed and conducted by our teachers. The objectives of the curriculum are: to nurture students’ ability to identify their goals, to furnish them with the necessary information to make adequate preparation and sensible choices for their future. In recent years, the government has been keen on promoting Career and Life Planning Education, putting more resources into this area. Our experienced career guidance teachers and class teachers work hand in hand to provide group or individual counselling for our students. Both junior and senior students have been guided on goal setting and future planning. We also set up the "You dare to think, I dare to award" Award Scheme in junior forms, to assist students in cultivating positive values. Our school also offers a wide range of CLP activities including career talks, workshops on subjects selection, mock interviews, simulation games, visits to various tertiary education institutions, sharing sessions held by alumni, study tour to the Mainland and Taiwan, alumni mentorship program, BSPP working experiences program, etc. The active participation in various CLP activities enables students to ponder over their life goals and to plan their life-long career more effectively. School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: 1. To enhance teaching and learning strategies; 2. To reinforce students’ positive thinking and attitude School Management Organisation: The operation of our school is supervised and monitored by the Administrative Committee, which consists of the principal and vice-principals and chair-persons of major committees. The committee is responsible for the planning and decision-making of academic development, pastoral care, students’ activities and resources management. The School Improvement Team sets a clear focus on the betterment of school self-evaluation and future development. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: The Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) was established on 1st September, 2012. It is comprised of representatives from the sponsoring body (Po Leung Kuk), the principal, teacher, parent and alumni representatives and independent professionals. Through the participations of different stakeholders in school management, it is hoped to establish effective channels of communication between different parties (e.g. teachers, parents and the public etc.) and to facilitate the smooth running of the school. School Green Policy: The concepts of energy-saving and sustainable development have been promoted in school by establishing the “The Centre of Renewable Energy” and “Harvest Garden” in the school campus. Students have been gaining knowledge and experiences on organic farming, tree preservation, ecosystem and sustainable development. Furthermore, a team of environmental protection ambassadors is formed to promote the concept of sustainable development by organizing activities, such as waste recycling scheme. Recently, we have been actively promoting sustainable development in the community too. The students, school and the public are hand-in-hand to make our future greener. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: The school values the development of students’ capabilities in English and Chinese language, both written and oral abilities. We take students’ English learning seriously and are devoted to creating an English rich environment through activities. The English Corner is open at lunchtime and after school. All activities are organized and held by the English Ambassadors so that they can use English beyond the classrooms. Furthermore, we adopt a fine-tune policy on English learning in junior forms. Every subject introduces English vocabulary and reading texts to increase students’ exposure to English and enrich their vocabulary capacity and consolidate their foundation, whereby they have not only more opportunities, but also more confidence to use English. Various measures are employed to develop and strengthen students’ language proficiency in Chinese language and Putonghua. Learning and Teaching Strategies: Students’ learning needs are always of our utmost concern. Different learning and teaching strategies are employed to cater diverse learning needs. Small class teaching is adopted in the learning of English language in all forms. Besides, small group teaching is strategically adopted in other subjects. School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: 1. To help students build a positive life attitude through spiritual and moral education. 2. To promote students’ academic achievements by raising the efficacy of both learning and teaching. School Management Organisation: The school operates with a school-based management system. The school will take parents', teachers' and students' opinions into consideration in the process of policy-making and the implementation as such. Further discussions among the executive committee members lead to final decision-making, implementation and review of school policies. The overall process is open, fair and closely supervised by the IMC. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: Our School's IMC was established on 30 August 2014 and it comprises representatives from the school's sponsoring body and stakeholders of the school. School Green Policy: The objectives of our school's green policy is to cultivate students' awareness of environmental protection and care for the community. The policy comprises four main areas. The first is Construction of Good Learning Environment which includes "Greening of the Campus", "Keeping the Campus Clean" and "School Facilities Improvements". The second is Environmental Management which comprises “Policy-Making”, “Management Structure”, “Staff Training” and “Disseminating Information on Environmental Protection”. The last two areas are Implementation of Effective Green Education and Organising Green Activities in School. In 2012, we were named one of the "Best 10 Green Schools" by the HKEPA. In 2014, we were bestowed "The 12th Hong Kong Green School Award". Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: We put great emphasis on our biliterate trilingual education. We attach equal importance to mother-tongue learning and students' competence in English and Putonghua. In order to improve students' English competence, selected subject modules are taught in English in designated junior-form classes. The school conducts morning assemblies in both English and Putonghua. An English Reading Week is also held every month to foster the biliterate trilingual environment. Learning and Teaching Strategies: In accordance with the school belief - "I seek, I act", we aim to nurture our students' attitude for active learning and equip them with the ability to construct knowledge for themselves. Through providing students with varied and all-round learning experiences, we help students develop an inquisitive attitude to learning, the nine generic skills, and become independent life-long learners. In order to strengthen learning support, students are allocated to different classes / teaching groups according to their abilities and standards, so as to address different educational needs. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X. For upper form students, they can choose two electives, Other Learning Experiences and Applied Learning are also offered. 2. Curriculum highlights: For junior form students, we integrate civic education and positive education in the school-based curricula of subjects such as Integrated Humanities, Life and Society, etc., to foster whole-person development of our students. For upper form students, teachers design their own teaching materials in Liberal Studies and in elective modules of English to cater for learner diversity with our students. To arouse students' interest in learning science and technology, the curricula of science-related subjects emphasize application, enabling students to understand the importance of science in everyday life. Development of Key Tasks: Reading Scheme To foster our students' learning and develop their reading habit as an essential part of their lives, time is allocated for reading each day. Through different reading programmes like the "Junior Forms Reading Program", "Book Sharing Day", "Book Recommendation", as well as reading activities run by the English and Chinese departments and the library, students are introduced to various materials to acquire a broader knowledge base and widen their horizons.

The ultimate goal of setting up the Volunteer Team is to develop a sense of care and social responsibility through encouragement and participation in local social services. Career and Life Planning: We adopt a scaffold approach to our systematic and holistic support in our careers education and guidance. This is achieved through our school-based curriculum for each form via the compilation of students' e-portfolio, exhibitions, talks and seminars, workshops, site visits, job-shadowing activities, group and personal consultation sessions, etc. Through these curricula and learning activities, we help students develop their self-knowledge, aptitude, attitude, goal-setting, and multiple pathways through which they could achieve their personal goals and plan their lives in a structured way. Through all this assistance, students of different levels can attain academic improvement continuously. We also offer individual counselling and group activities to students who need holistic support for their social, familial and academic development. Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: To facilitate Inclusive Education, we have adopted a whole school approach by setting up the Student Support Committee to coordinate the related work, forming groups or individual follow-up sessions for students with special educational needs and keeping in touch in a timely manner with parents to help with the development of our students. Through these activities, we have a better understanding of parents' opinions, thereby enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness. Our parent-teacher association is staffed by a committee of earnest and caring parent volunteers. Various activities are held regularly, such as family picnics and parent-child campus gardening workshops. The parent-teacher association also serves to bridge communications between the school and parents to foster close and fruitful partnerships. School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: - School Management Organisation: Our school has adopted School-Based Management to develop quality education. There are the Administrative Department, the Academic Department, the Discipline Team, the Counseling Team, the Civic Education Team, the School Affairs Team, the Information Technology Team, the Extra-curricula Activities Team and the Staff Development Team to centralize the various administrative and educational activities in the school. All these serve one ultimate goal — the “Whole-Person Education”. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: Incorporated Management Committee School Green Policy: Our purposes are to help students develop a habit of recycling waste paper and raise students’ awareness of cherishing the Earth’s resources through organizing various environmental protection activities, such as Waste Paper and Plastic Bottles Recycling Scheme, Beach Clean-up and Workshops. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: Chinese language is the main teaching medium. Learning and Teaching Strategies: In carrying out the principle of “Whole-Person Education”, the School emphasizes the development of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics. Through the teachings based on individuality and interaction, the wide use of Information Technology and the diversified extra-curricular activities, the school hopes to cultivate and develop the potentials and abilities of the students. In junior forms, Liberal Studies is included to let students use the knowledge from cross subjects and also prepare them for the NSS curriculum. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X. Two electives learning area for senior secondary. 2. Curriculum highlights: Curriculum adaption, multi-sensory approach, interest and abilities of learners, Teaching & Learning in Information Technology, Development of Generic Skills, Applied Learning and Other Learning Experience etc. Development of Key Tasks: 1. Reading – Apart from the Morning Reading Session and the Extensive Reading Schemes of Chinese and English, our school integrates reading into various subjects to widen the spectrum of students’ reading habit. 2. Information Technology – All teachers have attained the IT teaching training course and achieved the requirement of EDB. Students can access the intranet to share the learning and teaching resources. With the help of our WI-FI system, teachers and students are encouraged to teach and learn by means of IT. 3. Moral and Civic Education – Nurture students' positive values and attitudes to promote their whole-person development. 4. Project Learning – we have integrated the skills of project learning into the new subject, Liberal Studies. Students can use the methodology of project learning to widen their horizons in Liberal Studies. Career and Life Planning: To help students look for the right direction for stretching their potentials and striving. Student Support Whole School Approach to Cater for Student Diversity: One of the targets of the Academic Department is to cater for student diversity. Lesson plans and assignments are well designed to achieve the goals of teaching based on development of individual students’ abilities and potentials. Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: The Student Support Team in our school is responsible for planning, implementing and reviewing the support measures for the Integrated Education. It also formulates ‘School-based Integrated Education Policy’. Under the policy, ‘Whole School Approach’ is adopted to encourage the Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Special Educational Needs Support Teacher, class teachers and subject teachers to develop support measures collaboratively for the students with SEN. After obtaining consent from parents, our school would collect the information of the new S.1 students with SEN so as to identify their special educational needs earlier and then provide them with appropriate support. For those suspected students with SEN, our school would refer them to the educational psychologist for further assessment. To strengthen the fairness of exams, our school has adopted internal examination accommodation and also assists the students with SEN to apply for the similar accommodation in the public exams. The Student Support Team would invite parents, the educational psychologist and teachers concerned to attend meetings to follow up the support measures, if necessary. Our school flexibly deploys the Learning Support Grant to hire services including speech therapy, social skill training groups, individual and group counselling as well as after school tutorials, and also employ a counsellor to assist the students with SEN properly. Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students: Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: After School Support. Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment: There are three semesters in an academic year. To assess the progress of students, continuous assessment in the forms of homework, class work, projects and presentations is used for the coursework mark whereas the summative assessment is used for the exam mark in each semester. Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos Home-School Co-operation: Parent Teacher Association (PTA) discusses the issues of students as well as education in regular meetings. A parent representative has been chosen to join the School Management Committee, hoping that parents’ opinions can be expressed when formulating the school policies. Besides, PTA has contributions in giving financial support and scholarships to improve the school facilities and encourage students who have made a noticeable improvement in their academic achievement and conduct and perform excellently at non-academic fields. Parent volunteers are also recruited to train other committee members. With the help of external bodies, various workshops and seminars are held yearly. School Ethos: We enjoy a harmonious student-teacher relationship though we have a stringent school ethos. At the same time, we pay special attention to students’ needs. The best examples to illustrate our full support for students with different learning needs are the “Big Brothers and Big Sisters Scheme” by the Counseling Team and the school social workers; the ‘PATHS’and assemblies by the Civic Education Team; and the guidance of the persistent disciplinary teachers. Besides helping students grow up healthily by means of the ‘Healthy Campus Policy’, we also put an emphasis on the building of class ethos. Class teachers are carefully chosen and the ‘Caring Culture’ is promoted throughout the School, hoping that students can grow up in a rewarding and joyful learning environment. Future Development School Development Plan: 1. Promote students’ self-directed learning capability through e-learning. 2. Promote Positive Education. School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: Nurturing HCYers for the Future (a) To develop skills for HCYers to be effective learners (b) To establish positive school climate for HCYers’ character-building and a flourishing life School Management Organisation: The Principal is accountable to the Incorporated Management Committee. There are two vice-principals: one takes care of academic affairs and community relations and the other coordinates discipline, counselling, careers and extra-curricular activities to facilitate the all-round development of students. The Planning & Policy Review Committee formulates policies and developmental plans for the school. Various committees and subject-panels of the school implement policies of teaching and learning affairs. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: The Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) was set up on 1 August 2007. Following the instructions of the EDB, members of the IMC cooperate to realize the aims of school-based management and communicate well with the school staff. In order to gain a better understanding of the school, they will undertake lesson observation and inspect students' assignments when necessary. School Green Policy: Our school has joined some environmental protection programmes. Different groups of students are responsible for various environmental protection activities. The importance of environmental protection is disseminated to HCY students. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: To implement the bi-literacy and tri-lingualism policy, the school adopts school-based Putonghua curriculum in F.1-5. Students are encouraged to participate in various events of the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival so as to enhance their skills and interest in learning through different languages. Apart from this, English is the medium of instruction in major subjects. To promote students' English proficiency and encourage them to communicate with teachers and students in English, activities like English Language Announcements, English Days, Reading Scheme, and English Drama are held regularly. The Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) Committee has been set up to encourage the use of English across different subject curriculums. It helps produce teaching materials and gives support to subject departments so as to develop students' language skills through various content-based subjects. This whole-school language policy helps create a language-rich environment, which increases students' exposure to the English language. Learning and Teaching Strategies: To ensure a high standard of teaching quality, the school carries out different practices. First, lesson observation is conducted regularly. Post-lesson observation meetings are arranged which allow teachers to receive feedback and thus good practices are consolidated. Secondly, the school updates teachers’ knowledge and skills in teaching by enrolling in programmes run by the Education Bureau and universities. Thirdly, teachers take the initiative in joining courses and programmes organised by various external educational institutions. Fourthly, a professional sharing culture has been formed. The school provides collaboration periods and encourages departmental sharing among teachers to facilitate professional exchange. For students, we believe that the development of skills, knowledge and values is important. Besides transmitting knowledge, we train students to be independent learners by equipping them with skills such as note-taking, time-management, communication skills, interpersonal skills, etc. through various programmes and activities. To turn our students into useful members of the community, life education periods which encompass an array of topics are incorporated into the curriculum. Through activities and discussions, students learn proper moral values. School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Other than 4 core subjects, the school offers 12 electives. The combinations provide a well balanced curriculum. 2. Curriculum highlights: To bridge the junior and senior form curriculums, Library Periods are offered for F.1 students to help them master different learning strategies and study skills through reading. F.3 students are taught some basic concepts related to business and commercial subjects through the BAFS curriculum. Also, students in junior forms have Liberal Studies lessons so that they can develop a good foundation for the subject. For senior forms, the elements in the five aspects of OLE are embedded in different subjects, including PE, Music, Visual Arts and Life Education. Students also gain learning experiences through extra-curricular activities and school-based Putonghua curriculum. Development of Key Tasks: Reading: To promote reading, the school has set up a reading corner in each classroom. There is also a reading period every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Through different reading schemes, students are encouraged to develop good reading habits. Book recommendations, regular book fairs, author talks and other theme-based reading activities are arranged to enhance students’ interest in reading. To cultivate a reading culture, a library period is incorporated in the F.1 curriculum and students are welcomed to borrow ebook readers for leisure reading at home. Interactive Learning through Information Technology: To promote interactive learning through the use of information technology, the intranet and the eClass platform have been set up to facilitate the sharing and circulation of information among students and teachers. The school also promotes e-learning. On-line learning exercises and tests are assigned. Mobile learning is also adopted to ensure that students can learn beyond classrooms. Moral Education: We also highlight the importance of moral values and civic education. Life education lessons encompass a host of topics which help build important attributes including perseverance, civic and national identity, etc. Extra-curricular activities and tailor-made programmes are run to promote leadership qualities, peer appreciation, confidence, team spirit and international insights. Career and Life Planning: The Careers Committee is an important service centre for students to seek support and advice on their education and career path.

With the assistance of the staff, the Committee provides students with a variety of activities and services. These include workshops (covering leadership training, value building, interview skills, make-up, dining etiquette etc), careers talks and workplace visits, job shadowing and internship programmes, university summer programmes, the mentorship programme, sharing sessions by students and alumni, School-Company-Parent Program, JUPAS consultations for F.6 students, textbook exhibition for F.3 students and publication of the careers newsletters.

The Committee will guide them to develop better self-understanding and self-exploration so that they are able to set discreet careers goals and make informed choices, and make moves accordingly.

Students’ interests, abilities and special learning needs are important items on our agenda as we much appreciate students’ uniqueness. Student Support Whole School Approach to Cater for Student Diversity: Gifted Students: Academically gifted students are enrolled into the school-based talent pool through which they can participate in programmes and workshops in different aspects including languages, Mathematics, Science and other tailor-made gifted programmes. Students with Learning Difficulties: Enhancement classes are arranged after school for students who need more help. They also receive guidance from teachers on a regular basis. Students with Special Educational Needs: A school-based educational psychologist and an SEN teaching assistant are hired to offer help to students in need. Students with Financial Needs: A Community-based project is launched in collaboration with the HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre. Together with the School-based After School Grant, various activities are organised to help students with financial needs enrich their learning journey. Besides, the school has established a study room where students can reach self-access learning materials and seek guidance from teaching assistants when having revision. Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: The whole school approach is adopted in our school to promote inclusive education. Through utilising and allocating school resources, we provide diversified services and training to enhance students’ learning effectiveness. Our student support team includes the Vice-Principal, SEN coordinator, social workers, educational psychologist and SEN teaching assistant. Our team provides support and training to students, catering for their learning diversities and developing their strengths. Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment: Both formative and summative modes of assessment are adopted in order to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of students’ abilities. Remedial classes, enhancement courses and enrichment courses are run to help students achieve better results. There are Test Days and Examinations in both school terms. Special arrangements for examinations are also made for students with special educational needs. Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos Home-School Co-operation: The PTA has been actively planning and running different activities, like talks and courses, which cater to the various needs of parents. This in turn improves the collaboration between parents and the school. We have organized talks and have established a team of parent volunteers to promote PTA activities. A welcoming dinner for F.1 parents and an annual PTA outing have been arranged to build up a stronger sense of unity in the school, which also facilitates cooperation between parents and the school. Under the PTA Appreciation Awards Scheme, students from each class are given awards for 'Active Participation and the Courage to take Responsibility', 'Consideration and Care' and 'Honesty and Politeness'. Non-academic subject prizes, awarded on Speech Day, are sponsored by the PTA. Every year, the PTA supports the 'Parents-Also-Appreciate-Teachers Drive' and expresses its gratitude to the teachers. We have also set up a ‘Parent Volunteer Room’ in the school for our parent volunteers. School Newsletters are issued on a regular basis so that parents are better informed about school events. School Ethos: Qualities of HCYers: disciplined, self-actuating, responsible and committed To help HCYers acquire the above qualities, the following strategies will be adopted: 1. Inspire, develop and empower colleagues and students to organize or take part in various activities related to Value Education or Life Education so as to develop positive values and attitudes. 2. Provide well-structured leadership programmes, educational trips, school teams and extra-curricular activities for students’ physical and intellectual development, and for character building, as well as to instil in them a global perspective. 3. Strengthen student engagement in service training so as to develop students’ empathy toward the needy in society and enhance their sense of belonging to the community. 4. Utilize out-of-school resources to enrich students’ learning experiences in order to widen the horizons of the students and motivate them to pursue their dreams. 5. Provide extra care and support to students by assigning two class teachers in junior forms and increasing the teacher-student ratio in senior forms. Future Development School Development Plan: The 3-year School Plan for 2019-2022 aims to nurture our students for the future. We will strengthen their learning capability through the launch of various reading promotional activities. Also, the incorporation of mobile learning and STEAM education in the school curriculum helps students to acquire skills for the future so that they will be more confident in facing challenges. On the student development aspect, we will establish a positive school climate where students learn to appreciate and take the responsibility for their future. Teacher Professional Training and Development: Based on the annual major concerns of the school and the needs of teachers, at least three Staff Development Days are organized every year. The school has also set up a teacher-mentoring programme to help new teachers adapt to the new work environment. In addition, regular practices such as collaborative periods and peer lesson observation help promote a culture of professional sharing among teachers. Besides, the school encourages teachers to receive training through the use of the training and development grant and administrative support. Life-wide Learning Activities including Five Essential Learning Experiences, Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc. Extra-curricular activities (ECA) are activities that take place outside classrooms and yet are vital to students' growth. As such, they fall within the scope of our school curriculum. In addition to academic pursuit, we believe that students can achieve all-round development through participation in activities. To encourage students' participation and to facilitate the organization of activities, Tuesdays and Fridays are designated as Activity Days. In order to cater for a wide range of talents, interests and potential of students, our school has developed a comprehensive plan for the development of ECA with the following three sub-categories, namely academic, interest and service. In order to promote students' whole-person development, students need to participate in at least one activity each year in their junior forms. Our school also provides structured leadership programmes for students to equip them with effective leadership skills so that they can meet the challenges of today’s world. We also coordinate a variety of activities for students throughout the school year, including Life-wide-learning Day, Students Union Activities, Chinese Culture Week, English Week, Mathematics and Science Week, Counselling Week, Social Service Week, Music Week, Adventure ship, Outing, Sports Day, Exchange programmes, Singing Contest, Inter-class competitions, etc. School Facilities School Facilities: 2 Computer-assisted Learning Centres, a Computerized Art Room, a Student Union Room, a Student Activity Centre, a Self-study Room, a Fitness Room, etc. All classrooms are equipped with computers, visualisers and projectors.
