U.S. Tbusinesses, however, are hesitating to make capital investments in staffing, plants, or equipment due to uncertainties in healthcare costs, the level of tax increases, and the uncom- fortable direction of social policies. The truck industry is mirroring the overall economy. Many dealerships and ancillary businesses are holding back on investments in additional staffing, as evidenced by slow turn times in truck service facilities of every kind, and the slow responses from dealership sales and support personnel. Their staffs are overwhelmed. Doing more with less has become the mantra of U.S. business managers regardless of their management level. Convention Committee Chairman Work on one project at a time – Even if you only have 10 to 15 minutes of uninterrupted Tim Ormsby time, fully devote that time to focus on one single work item. Schedule out your day, week, and month to reflect important meetings. Put all your follow-up tasks into the system, and allow the system to help George Barnett you remember – there’s no reason to lay in bed awake at night scheduling out your next day. Marketing Committee Chairman Ask for and give respect – Unexpected interruptions are a given part of business. Being Lara Haag respectful of your co-workers’ time, however, and asking for that same respect will help minimize unnecessary interruptions.
