After investigating the fire, their insurer, “Allstate”1 denied the claim. 1 In this case there are two “Allstate” entities: Allstate Insurance Company and Allstate Vehicle and Property Insurance Company. Unless otherwise indicated, we use the term “Allstate” to reference Allstate Insurance Company. The Millsapses sued Allstate for breach of contract and other contract-related claims in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, Mississippi. A jury found in favor of the Millsapses against Allstate Insurance Company on the Breach of Contract claim and awarded them a total of $970,000 in damages. After reconvening and hearing testimony on punitive damages, the jury awarded the Millsapses an additional $230,000 in emotional damages ($115,000 for each), and $100,000 in punitive damages. The two verdicts totaled $1,300,000. -

Alfa Article: The Montreal Finally gets Respect Note: Curtisey Road & Track The Alfa Romeo Montreal Is Cooler Than Most Ferraris The Montreal is probably the greatest oddball of the seventies. A friend of mine has a beautiful black Alfa Romeo Montreal. He calls her Lukrécia, and the car works as flawlessly as such a machine can—because it lives at Alfarium, a shop where they can deal with its dry-sump 2.6 liter V8's crazy SPICA fuel injection and all the wiring that wasn't quite finished at the factory. That's why I trust them with my Autobianchi, a slightly less complex beast. Lukrécia even made it to the pages of Petrolicious before, but now, it was time for photographer/illustrator TJ Grewal's beautiful blue Montreal to become their latest star. TJ ended up buying the first Montreal he ever saw—importing it from Italy—and as somebody who spends a lot of time in his studio appreciating the details of such cars, he couldn't be happier about getting this Bertone classic. Alfa Romeo built less than 4000 Montreals in the middle of the oil crisis, naming the production version of the concept car after the Canadian Expo it was made for. -

Avanti: Project Automatic Overdrive By Bill Henderson, AOAI Pennsylvania Member, [email protected] I hadn’t owned my Avanti very long, when on an early summer morning drive on the Interstate to a club event my wife commented, “It doesn’t seem happy.” I could hardly argue with her. In fact, I was thinking the same thing. It was a hot day. Keeping up with traffic at 75 MPH the car ran smoothly but the engine was screaming like an over‐ revved sewing machine. The tachometer read 3300 RPM, and I kept wishing I had another gear to shift to. Further, by the time we had reached our destination more than an hour later, we were both drenched with sweat, as the footwells and console were radiating heat worthy of a smelting oven. The chrome shifter was so hot that it couldn’t be touched without risking blisters. Even the air coming in the floor vents offered no relief as it was scalding hot, passing as it did through the oven–like cowl and past combination of summer driving, today’s faster the firewall before reaching our feet. “That car highway speeds, the high rear gears, the ancient needs air conditioning,” said my wife with some transmission and the fiberglass floor and firewall annoyance as we joined the party, our backs soaked made me realize that I needed to address the issue if with perspiration. This is the big swap meet that we’ve been attending for 2 cups firmly packed kudzu blossoms the last 15 years. We got rained on Thursday and Friday, but Saturday turned out 4 1/2 cups water to be a nice day. -
