Who we are and what we do . Nottingham Jobs is a partnership between Nottingham City Council, the Department for Work & Pensions and the Futures Group . We are a publicly-funded employment & skills service, free at the point of use, supporting both employers and jobseekers in the Greater Nottingham area . In partnership with Nottingham College, we deliver the ‘Building Skills for Construction’ programme, financed by CITB’s Construction Skills Fund . We provide: . Grants to support salary costs, staff training, licences and equipment . Tailored recruitment support, job advertising, and access to an extensive candidate base through our partnership . Advice and help to take on apprenticeships and secure accredited training in a range of construction disciplines . Guidance on becoming recognised as a top-quality and inclusive employer, including specialist mental health and pastoral support for the construction workforce . A dedicated construction skills hub and training centre located in the heart of Nottingham close to major development sites Nottingham Jobs Fund 125 grants available until March 2020 (or until all awarded – first come, first served) Available to employers of any size although a preference for SMEs, charities and community organisations £5,000 per eligible candidate appointed (no maximum number of grants), although NJF placements cannot exceed non-NJF staff Employers must have a vacancy and recruit unemployed or economically inactive city residents, paying the national minimum wage (if an apprenticeship) Role must be full-time and last for a year (although candidates can request part-time – i.e. females returning to work - or be placed with multiple employers for the duration of their placement) We can either recruit the candidate for you or fund your own preferred candidate (including retrospectively, up to 3 months after recruitment). Candidates can also self-market.
