    Historical Portsmouth Number List The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme is provided to enable clubs to allow boats of different classes to race against each other fairly. The RYA actively encourages clubs to adjust handicaps where classes are either under or over performing compared to the number being used. The Portsmouth Yardstick list combines the Portsmouth numbers with class configuration and the total number of races returned to the RYA in the annual return. This additional data has been provided to help clubs achieve the stated aims of the Portsmouth Yardstick system and make adjustments to Portsmouth Numbers where necessary. Clubs using the PN list should be aware that the list is based on the average performance of each boat across a variety of clubs and locations. The numbers in the PN list may not reflect the peak performance of each boat. Historical numbers are listed below and have been collated from the RYA's archive of PN lists. It should be remembered that the Portsmouth Yardstick number list has been through a number of changes and the numbers listed below have had conversion factors applied where needed. It should also be remembered that whilst all efforts are taken for PN's not to drift, relative performance of older boats may be quite different to modern classes. The numbers are given as a starting point to help clubs arrive at a fair number and if these numbers are used then they should be reviewed regularly. Users of the PY scheme are reminded that all Portsmouth Numbers published by the RYA should be regarded as a guide only.

RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The 2017-2020 Racing ​ ​ ​ Rules of Sailing (RRS). ​ 1.2. For the purposes of the definition of rule, the class rules shall be the rules of the ​ ​ Laser Radial, Club 420, Optimist, RS Tera, Laser Pico class. ​ ​ 1.3 The following rules will be changed: rule 40 and A2. These changes will also appear in full in the Sailing Instructions. Additional rules may also be changed in the Sailing Instructions. 2. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY 2.1 AGE Applicants for all classes must not turn 18 years old* in the year of the event. ​ ​ Optimist class age rules apply. 2.2 US SAILING MEMBERSHIP Membership in US Sailing is recommended for each competitor (helmsman and crew for doublehanded classes). Sailors can join online at www.ussailing.org/membership. 2.3 CLASS ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP US Sailing recommends that competitors are members of their respective class associations (i.e., Optimist, Laser, Club 420, etc.). 1 2.4 GREEN REGATTA This regatta is a Sailors for the Sea "Clean Regatta." All competitors are encouraged to use non-single use water bottles and recycle all appropriate items. Competitors are reminded of rule 55 which states that competitors "shall not intentionally put trash in the water." 3.

    I4 Rules of the INTERNATIONAL I4 CLASS Printed February, 2016 Effective from 31 March, 2016 RULES The Name of the Class shall be the International I4 Class The International Fourteen is a development class sailing dinghy. Under the authority of the International Fourteen World Association, the Measurement Rules presented in this booklet constitute the sole reference, except where noted, for the measurement of boats in this class. The World Sailing Sail Measurement instructions shall not apply. The World Sailing Equipment Rules of Sailing (“ERS”) definitions shall apply to words in bold text. They shall be used in the sail measurement processes. Where a definition is amended or modified by these rules, the modified definition shall be used. A boat includes its hull, spars, sails and fittings. The units of measurement shall be metric. 2 HULL and CENTREBOARD Note: Unless specifically required otherwise hereunder, all measurements shall be taken parallel to one of the three major axis of the hull - vertical, horizontal or transverse - related to the waterline and fore and aft centre line of the hull. Rule 1 Length of Hull and Fittings (a) The overall length of the hull shall not exceed 4267mm including stem band but excluding all the rudder fittings, transom flaps, drain plugs and stem fittings. Stem fittings shall not project more than 25mm beyond the surface of the hull. No fittings or equipment which have the effect of elongating the skin of the boat beyond a length of 4267mm is permitted. (b) A bowsprit and a device to support such bowsprit are allowed. Neither shall extend more than 900mm forward of the hull.

Such assistance should be a key service to our members and therefore we are instigating access through a special link on the AYH website. Many of us will have started research in yacht club records and club libraries, which are often haphazard and incomplete. We have now started the process of listing significant yachting research resources with their locations, distinctive features, and comments on how accessible they are, and we invite our members to tell us about their Half-model of Peggy Bawn, G.L.
