Reported Its First-Half Revenues for FY 2018/2019 (April-September)
FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE H1 revenue for fiscal 2018/19 up 33% at €44.3m Record H1 driven by sales of Vampyr and the back catalogue’s excellent performance Strategic promotion of key talent to support the Group in its long-term evolution French video games publisher FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE (FR0012419307 ALFOC) has reported its first-half revenues for FY 2018/2019 (April-September). Over the first six months of its fiscal year, FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE generated record revenues* of €44.3m. Excellent H1 2018/2019 After the successful launch of Vampyr where the game topped the charts in France, the UK, Germany and in many other countries, Dontnod’s game enjoyed tremendous success throughout the second quarter. With praise heaped on it for its production and script, Vampyr is a further confirmation, after MudRunner and The Surge in 2017, of the Group’s ability to create a major event with games that combine unprecedented concepts and high-potential universes. The good H1 sales were also driven by the growth of the back catalogue, up €11.1m compared to the same period in 2017 (April to September 2017), illustrating the breadth of the video game catalogue with titles enjoying long lifespans. Its proportion of H1 sales was stable at 45% of total sales vs. 46% a year earlier. FOCUS has also successfully renewed its partnerships for “FOCUS Publisher Weeks”, during which Steam and Microsoft promoted FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE, enabling the Group to sell hundreds of thousands of copies of its games. At end-September, digital sales accounted for 65% of revenues for the period and international sales amounted to more than 90%. -

Deck13 est un studio de développement de jeux allemand de premier plan et un partenaire de longue date de Focus Home Interactive. Deck13 emploie une équipe de 60 personnes hautement qualifiées et a développé plus de 20 jeux au cours des 18 dernières années. Deck13 a développé des succès majeurs tels que la franchise The Surge avec Focus Home Interactive et a réalisé un chiffre d'affaires de 5,5 millions d'euros au cours de l'année fiscale se terminant le 31 décembre 2019. Playing Nice: The Limitations and Stereotypes Placed on Female Hero Representation in Video Games. Master of Arts (Radio, Television, and Film), May 2014, 133 pp., 22 figures, bibliography, 50 titles. This thesis provides an investigation of how gender stereotypes affect the narrative, mechanics, and experience of three different console based video games (Venetica, WET, and Velvet Assassin) with female protagonist. Each game is addressed within separate case study chapters and discusses how gender is integrated and intertwined with each narrative structure, image representation, and interactivity. Further analysis is provided in each case study as gender is addressed across several parts of each game, beginning with the female protagonist’s role as hero, her representation throughout the game (i.e. body image, attire, and weapons), and the game play experience. In conclusion, this thesis shows that the protagonist gender within a video game does affect the game in its entirety. More specifically, all three female heroines discussed in this thesis showcases stereotypes associated with the dominant sexual representation of female video game characters, as well as similar traditional feminine and masculine stereotypes associated with heroines in film and television. This provides for rather problematic representations of female heroes, alone with the games designed for them which are equally as stereotypical in their narrative, mechanics, and game play. -
