Liability within the scope of Cloud Computing services. Opolskie Studia Administracyjno-Prawne 18(4): 09–22. DOI: 10.25167/ osap.3427 Abstract: The issue of acquiring large amounts of data and creating large sets of digital data, and then processing and analyzing them (Big Data) for the needs of generating artificial intelligence (AI) solutions is one of the key challenges to the development of economy and national security. Data have become a resource that will determine the power and geopoliti- cal and geoeconomic position of countries and regions in the 21st century.1 The layout of data storage and processing in distributed databases has changed in recent years. Since the appearance of hosting services in the range of ICT services, we are talking about a new type of ASP (Applications Service Providers) – provision of the ICT networks as part of an application). Cloud Computing is therefore one of the versions of the ASP services. The ASP guarantees the customer access to a dedicated application run- ning on a server. Cloud Computing, on the other hand, gives the opportunity to use the resources of a shared infrastructure for many users simultaneously (Murphy n.d.). The use of the CC model is more effective in many aspects. Cloud Computing offers the opportunity to use three basic services: data storage in the cloud (cloud storage), applications in the cloud (cloud applications) and computing in the cloud (compute cloud). Website hosting 1 This article has been prepared as a result of cooperation at the realization of the research project entitled “The Polish cybersecurity system - a model of legal solutions“ The Agreement MON No. GB/4/2018/208/2018/DA] granted by Ministry of National Defence. 10 Katarzyna Chałubińska-Jentkiewicz and electronic mail are still the most frequently chosen services in Cloud Computing. The article attempts to explain the responsibility for content stored in the Cloud Computing. Keywords: data protection, personal data, digital content, digital heritage, intellectual prop- erty, new technology Abstrakt: Kwestia pozyskiwania dużych ilości danych i tworzenia dużych zbiorów danych cyfrowych, a następnie ich przetwarzania i analizowania (Big Data) na potrzeby generowania rozwiązań sztucznej inteligencji (AI) jest jednym z kluczowych wyzwań dla rozwoju gospo- darczego, ale także dla zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa narodowego. Cloud Computing umożliwia korzystanie z trzech podstawowych usług: przechowywania danych w chmurze, tworzenia aplikacji w chmurze oraz przetwarzania w chmurze (chmura obliczeniowa). Hosting stron internetowych i poczta elektroniczna to nadal najczęściej wybierane usługi w ramach Clo- ud Computing. W artykule

Cambridge University Press 978-1-107-02210-2 - The Cossack Myth: History and Nationhood in the Age of Empires Serhii Plokhy Excerpt More information Introduction On the sunny morning of March 31, 1814, the citizens of Paris witnessed a scene that their city had not experienced in almost four hundred years. Armed foreigners poured into the streets and squares, making their way into the city through the Pantin Gate. A multinational army, some of its units dressed in uniforms never before seen in Western Europe, paraded in front of shocked and confused, but also amazed and occasionally amused Parisians. At the head of more than one thousand corps, consisting of Russian, German and Austrian troops, rode on his grey thoroughbred Alexander I, the Tsar of all the Russias, the liberator of Europe, and the conqueror of France. As he led the march through the streets of the French capital, Alexander was followed by his colorfully dressed Cossack guards, an object of interest and amazement to some citizens of Paris and a source of unease and concern to others. On one side of Alexander rode the King of Prussia, on the other – the representative of the Habsburg emperor. Suddenly Alexander stopped his horse and declared to the surprised crowd: “I do not come as an enemy; I come to bring you peace and commerce!” His words were met with cheers. It was a moment of triumph of Russian arms and the Russian spirit that history had not seen before and would never see again. Joseph Stalin recalled Alexander’s capture of Paris when he met President Harry Truman in Potsdam after the Second World War.

  • Warfare, State and Society on the Black Sea Steppe, 1500-1700
Warfare, State and Society on the Black Sea Steppe, 1500–1700 In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Muscovy waged a costly struggle against the Crimean Khanate, the Ottoman Empire, and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth for control of the fertile steppe above the Black Sea. This was a region of great strategic and economic importance – arguably the pivot of Eurasia at the time. Yet, this crucial period in Russia’s history has, up until now, been neglected by historians. Brian L. Davies’s study provides an essential insight into the emergence of Russia as a great power. The long campaign took a great toll upon Russia’s population, economy, and institutions, and repeatedly frustrated or redefi ned Russian military and diplo- matic projects in the West. The struggle was every bit as important as Russia’s wars in northern and central Europe for driving the Russian state-building process, forcing military reform and shaping Russia’s visions of Empire. Warfare, State and Society on the Black Sea Steppe, 1500–1700 examines the course of this struggle and explains how Russia’s ultimate prevalence resulted from new strategies of military colonization in addition to improvements in army command-and-control, logistics, and tactics. • The Cossack Myth: History and Nationhood in the Age of Empires
THE COSSACK MYTH In the years following the Napoleonic Wars, a mysterious manuscript began to circulate among the dissatisfied noble elite of the Russian Empire. Entitled The History of the Rus′, it became one of the most influential historical texts of the modern era. Attributed to an eighteenth-century Orthodox archbishop, it described the heroic struggles of the Ukrainian Cossacks. Alexander Pushkin read the book as a manifestation of Russian national spirit, but Taras Shevchenko interpreted it as a quest for Ukrainian national liberation, and it would inspire thousands of Ukrainians to fight for the freedom of their homeland. Serhii Plokhy tells the fascinating story of the text’s discovery and dissemination, unravelling the mystery of its authorship and tracing its subsequent impact on Russian and Ukrainian historical and literary imagination. In so doing, he brilliantly illuminates the relationship between history, myth, empire, and nationhood, from Napoleonic times to the fall of the Soviet Union. serhii plokhy is the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Professor of Ukrainian History at Harvard University. His previous publications include Ukraine and Russia: Representations of the Past (2008)andThe Origins of the Slavic Nations: Premodern Identities in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus (2006). Proposed timeline handbook is intended to arrange knowledge of students in a systematic way, to form orientation in historical time and stable imagination of the sequence of historical events, periods, processes. • Breslov (Hasidic Group)
Breslov (Hasidic group) Breslov (also Bratslav, also spelled Breslev) is a branch of Hasidic Judaism founded by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772–1810), a great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, founder of Hasidism. Its adherents strive to develop an intense, joyous relationship with God and receive guidance toward this goal from the teachings of Rebbe Nachman. The movement has had no central, living leader for the past 200 years, as Rebbe Nachman did not designate a successor. As such, they are sometimes referred to as the "Dead Hasidim"), since they have never had another formal) טויטער חסידים the Rebbe since Nachman's death. However, certain groups and communities under the Gravesite of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov banner refer to their leaders as "Rebbe". Breslov in Uman, Ukraine. The movement weathered strong opposition from virtually all other Hasidic movements in Ukraine throughout the 19th century, yet at the same time experienced growth in numbers of followers from Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Poland. By World War I, thousands of Breslov Hasidim were located in those places. After the Bolshevik Revolution, Communist oppression forced the movement underground in Russia. Thousands of Hasidim were imprisoned or murdered during the Great Purge of the 1930s, and killed by Nazis who invaded Ukraine in 1941. The movement was regenerated in the United Kingdom, United States, and Israel by those who escaped, with large numbers of Yemenite Jews and other Mizrahim joining the sect.
