Upper Silesian Agency For Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd. Silesian Region is located in the south of Poland with almost 5 million people. It is an important academic, scientific and industrial centre and one of the most attractive tourist regions in Poland. Traditional industry and coal mining gave way to businesses and companies using the About state-of-the-art achievements and high technologies. Policy addressed: Regional Operational Programme: Priority Axis 3: Competitiveness of SMEs Regional Innovation Strategy The main objective of Local Action Plan for Silesia is creation of synergic regional system of support of internationalisation process by integration of key supporting organisations and their competences. This Regional Export Platform as a system of cooperation will facilitate the SMEs to expand their businesses abroad. The operation of the Platform is based on: Local 1. Identification of competences needed and experts available in institutions involved, 2. Integrated system of cooperation of supporting institutions, 3. Sharing the information about foreign markets, regulation and business environment, Action 4. Data base and matching of potential business partners from abroad, 5. Professional trainings for experts, Plan 6. Trainings and workshops for entrepreneurs on creation of relevant business models, 7. Promotion of the region and Polish brand abroad, 8. Information about financial support. THE FUTURE STARTS HERE Introduction Katowice is a unique city in Poland in terms of its dynamic transformation from an industrial region into a modern metropolitan area. We have focused on revitalisation, creating new recreational areas and the rapid development of culture and business tourism. The metamorphosis of Katowice has been recognised by UNESCO, which in 2015 awarded Katowice the title of UNESCO City of Music. This means that we now have the potential to organise the largest global events. We share the motto of the British SAS: „Who Dares Wins”. A few years ago, we started to focus on e-sport, which from today’s perspective has been well worth it. These decisions have had a huge impact on where we are today. The investments we have made are having a positive impact on the perception of the city and its image, and are noticeably improving the quality of life of its inhabitants. Worth noting is the transformation that has been taking place with respect to the heritage and rich history of region, which can be seen in the vast array of projects. A great example is the Culture Zone, which was established on the site of the former Katowice Coal Mine. In line with our Katowice 2030 City Development Strategy, we take actions to make our city: intelligent, innovative, integrated and international. In order to achieve these four values, we cooperate with residents, investors and various types of organisations. We know that only our joint efforts and engagement will allow us to create a modern city.
