DAY 01 - 24 OCT (THU) - FRANKFURT NAPLES

Upon arrival in Frankfurt at the Frankfurt International Airport, transit to your onward flight.

After a welcome lunch, be met by a local guide for a guided city tour in Naples. Visit Pio Monte della Misericordia which preserves countless works of art, including ’s The Seven Work of Mercy. Then explore the Naples National Archaeological Museum. It is one of the world’s largest archaeological museums, particularly renowned for its collection of Roman antiquities.

Tonight, enjoy a special Italian dinner, a spectacular way to end the first day of your trip.

DAY 02 - 25 OCT (FRI) - NAPLES | POMPEII | NAPLES

Head for an excursion to UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Pompeii. It was an ancient Roman city near Naples that was buried by the great eruption of in 79 A.D. However, it is extremely well-preserved and offers a snapshot of Roman life, frozen at the moment it was buried.

Return to Naples for a city tour. Visit , the largest and richest art gallery in the Southern Italy. At the museum, you can see the masterpieces by a list of great Italian painters like , and Caravaggio etc. Then visit to . It is one of the most important and prestigious houses in the world and the oldest one in that still stages . You will also have a Naples underground tour. It is possible to see different underground sites like the Subterranean Naples, different large catacombs and the archaeological excavations.

DAY 03 - 26 OCT (SAT) - NAPLES | PAESTUM | CASTELMEZZANO | MATERA

Today you will be checked out in the early morning after breakfast. The first stop will be the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Paestum. It is an ancient Greek settlement and famous for the three world’s best preserved ancient Greek temples – Temple of Neptune, Temple of Athena and Temple of Hera (Basilica).

Then, you will be transfer to the two mountaintop villages Castelmezzano. Castelmezzano is one of the Italy’s most theatrical villages. Walking through the is particularly attractive due to the presence of buildings included in the rock. With the backdrop of Lucanian and natural rocky , the extraordinary panorama view will certainly leave you breathless. Continue the drive to Matera and check in Sant’ Angelo Luxury Resort for two nights.

DAY 04 - 27 OCT (SUN) - MATERA

After an early breakfast you will meet your private guide at the hotel lobby. You will have an in-depth walking tour in the ghost town of , a medieval village which was completely evacuated in 1980 and has remained eerily uninhabited ever since. You will also visit the Crypt of Original Sin.

After lunch in Matera, you will have time for a walking tour of Matera to explore the “Sassi” or cave dwelling and visit the Contemporary Museum, the most important Italy Museum dedicated to sculpture.

In the evening you will enjoy a guided tour of Matera. Right before the sunset, the “Sassi” of Matera get a particular colour nuance, suddenly a myriad of tiny lights appears and this mysterious and age-old human settlement magically becomes the biggest living crib in the world. The thousands of little lights in the Sassi seem a reflection of the in the sky. You will enjoy the peace of this unique place, its charm and its old-age silence. After the sunset, Matera reveals its most romantic, mysterious and intimate face. You will fulfil an unforgettable evening by having a dinner in a typical restaurant in Sassi.

DAY 05 - 28 OCT (MON) - MATERA | BRINDISI | GALLIPOLI | LECCE

This morning after checking out of Sant’Angelo Luxury Resort, we will transfer to Brindisi. Our guide will take you to the Tempio di San Giovanni al Sepolcro and the archeology museum. We will then continue the journey to Gallipoli, a seaside town that is situated along the coast of . We will visit the Cattedrale di Sant’Agata, Chiesa di Santa Maria della Purita and Frantoio Ipogeo. Continue the drive to Lecce and check in Risorgimento Resort for two nights.

DAY 06 - 29 OCT (TUE) - LECCE

After an early breakfast you will start a full day walking tour in Lecce. It is often labelled as the “Florence of the South”. It is also best known as a city as many Baroque monuments can be found here. It boasts a marvelous historical centre, numerous churches and squares. You will spend a full day here on a walking tour and visiting some of the city’s best museums. Dinner will be served in a Masseria outside Lecce where you will assist to traditional pizzica folk dance performance.

DAY 07 - 30 OCT (WED) - LECCE | OSTUNI | MARTINA FRANCA | CASTELLANA GROTTE | FASANCO

This morning after checking out of Risorgimento Resort, your private driver will take you along the coast and reach Fasano by the end of the day. We will discover the magic of the White city of Ostuni - an imposing citadel overlooking the plains all the ways to the Adriatic. Our private guide will lead you on a walk through the tiny winding streets of the oldest quarter known by the Arabic term the “Casbah” and which certainly look more Greek or eastern than the stereotypical piazzas of northern Italy.

For lunch, you will dine at the Michelin-starred Cielo Restaurant. We will then transfer to Martina Franca for a short tour to visit Palazzo Ducale, Basilica di San Martino and Chiesa San Domenico. In the evening, you will enjoy an exclusive access to Castellana Grotte where we will explore the magnificent caves.

DAY 08 - 31 OCT (THU) - FASANO | ALBEROBELLO | FASANO

This morning you are off to discover the secrets of cheese-making in the ancient traditions of Puglia. You will try Puglia’s famous , a most delicious and delicate creamy cheese. Next, we will continue with the discovery of the day with another outstanding unique architecture of the region - the trulli houses. Our expert guide will take you to discover these cone shaped dwellings which are unique to the region. In the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Alberobello, you will see a concentration of over 1,000 trulli houses. Our guide will bring the history of this picturesque own to life.

After lunch, you will visit a winery for wine tasting.

DAY 09 - 01 NOV (FRI) - FASANO | MONOPOLI | POLIGNANO A MARE | FASANO

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the charming fishing villageMonopoli where you can walk along the port and see the fisherman repairing the nets as they prepare for a day out at sea. Here you will see the impressive castle of Emperor Charles V and admire he panoramic view from the sea walls surrounding the historic center. The historical centre is full of winding streets, unique and beautiful churches, and tempting boutique. Although a small town, Monopoli is full of enchanting secrets ripe for discovery. Then we will continue to Polignano a Mare and have a lunch in the Grotta Palazzese restaurant inside the cave. You will have an excursion to the caves by boat if weather permitted.
