International Raceway for Saturday’s 67th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The team is coming off it second victory in the last three seasons at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona, where Formula One veteran Fernando Alonso and former Formula One and current FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) veteran Kamui Kobayashi joined Taylor and van der Zande in the cockpit. In 2017, Taylor scored the Rolex 24 victory for the team co-driving with his older brother Ricky Taylor, along with veteran Italian Max “The Ax” Angelelli and four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon. This weekend, the team will also be looking for its second Sebring victory in three seasons, having followed up its 2017 Rolex 24 win with a Sebring victory at the hands of the Taylor brothers and third driver Alex Lynn of Great Britain. Last year at Sebring, Jordan Taylor, van der Zande and former IndyCar series and Indy 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay co-drove to a second-place finish. It was the team’s third top-two finish in four seasons at the 12-hour endurance marathon. The 2017 Sebring victory was the team’s second of five consecutive race wins to open the season en route to that year’s driver and team championships. The team heads to Sebring this weekend riding a two-race winning streak, having won last year’s season-ending Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on a thrilling, last-lap pass by van der Zande. That win was the team’s first and only win of 2018 and extended its streak of 15 consecutive seasons with at least one victory. With the Petit Le Mans victory and four podium finishes in all, Taylor and van der Zande rallied to finish third in the final 2018 championship standings, seven points out of first. Taylor will be making his eighth career Sebring 12-hour start this weekend, the latter six with the No. 10 team and the first two racing for the GT- class Corvette Racing team, with whom he co-drove to a runner-up finish from the pole alongside Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia in 2012. This weekend marks the sixth career Sebring appearance for van der Zande. He drove for the Starworks Motorsport Prototype Challenge-class team from 2014 through 2016 and logged podium finishes of third in 2014 and 2016 and a fifth-place finish in 2015. Prior to joining the No. 10 team last year, he finished sixth overall in the 2017 Sebring 12-hour in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona entry alongside Marc Goosens and Rene Rast. Vaxivière is a 24-year-old regular in the WEC. The Frenchman is also an R-Motorsport-contracted driver competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series. In 2018, he won from the pole in the series’ round at England’s Silverstone circuit, and also won the pole at France’s Paul Ricard circuit on his way to ninth in the championship. He also has competed in the WEC since 2017, scoring a podium finish at Silverstone in 2017 and a pair of top-fives at Japan’s Fuji circuit in 2017 and 2018 and another top-five at Belgium’s Spa Francourchamps circuit in 2018. He also competed in last year’s opening three European Le Mans Series events, bringing home runner-up finishes at Paul Ricard and Italy’s Monza circuit. Vaxivière began racing karts in France as a 10-year-old in 2005, and also competed in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, V de V Endurance Cup, French GT, and 2e Grand Prix Electrique in 2012 and 2013. This weekend marks Vaxivière’s Sebring debut, and he’ll be pulling double duty by also racing in Friday’s eight-hour WEC race at the track in an LMP2-class No. 28 TDS Racing-sponsored entry with co-drivers Francois Perrodo and Loic Duvall. Van der Zande also will be pulling double duty this weekend, joining Henrik Hendman and Ben Handley in the No. 10 Dragonspeed LMP1 entry. 2018 Results: Date Site Drivers Start Finish Laps Laps Led Status Points/Pos.
