Patient Transport Service (South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust) Transport is only provided for patients who are unable to use public transport due to a medical condition and include:  Attending hospital outpatient clinics  Being admitted to, or discharged from hospital wards  Need life-saving treatment (Renal dialysis, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy etc).

Licensed Hackney Cabs Hackney cabs are the vehicles that can be hailed immediately or pre-booked and have a maximum meter fares set by the council which currently are:  For the first 10th mile £2.40  Each subsequent 10th of a mile 20p  Christmas and New Year - Double Tariff
