The ranch is located in western Montana, in Belt, twelve miles from two old mining towns, Monarch and Neihart. Great
Falls is a one-hour drive northwest on Highway 89, also known as the Kings Hill Scenic Byway. Snow removal crews work throughout the winter season to keep this highway open for year round access. Highway 89 spans Montana, connecting

Silver was first discovered in the Neihart area in 1881, and the town was first called Jericho. Ore was hauled to Fort Benton and loaded on river boats for processing downstream. The community struggled for survival in its remote location until new life was brought to the area by way of a Montana Central Railroad spur in 1891. Monarch came to be at this time as a service community for the Neihart, Barker, and Hughesville mining camps. Hughesville became Montana’s top lead producing district up through the period following World War I.
