Thank you for considering placing an entry in our show. Before you enter any exhibits, we would like you to consider the following information that we have put together in order to make the show pleasant for everyone.

This will be an open show and exhibitors will be allowed in the show hall throughout the day and will be able to watch their exhibit(s) being judged from the allocated seating area.

We will be operating in a completely different environment from shows prior to the outbreak of COVID 19. Please follow the guidelines in the show hall to comply with requirements relating to physical distancing.

PLEASE:

1. Display patience at all times during the show to EACH and EVERY person in the hall.

2. Please follow the directions of show officials during the show, at all times.

3. Remain seated unless you are using club amenities or attending to your cat (at the direction of the Bay Manager).

4. Observe physical distancing and sit in the same seat that you have chosen. You will place your name on this seat, which will be with your Vetting In Slip (A4 sheet of paper).

5. Sanitise your hands regularly.

You may find that the new requirements are frustrating and that show participation is not the same as previous cat shows. It WILL take longer to set up at the start of the show and to leave at the end of the day and time spent with your cat to groom for presentation will be limited to a small window – REFER POINT 1 We need your patience and cooperation. Please provide polite and honest to goodness suggestions when things don’t go as planned.

The Show Manager reserves the right to ask any exhibitor at any time to leave the show hall with their exhibits if they are not complying with the new requirements. In this event the exhibitor’s exhibit(s) will be disqualified.

General

1. Physical distancing applies at all times – all participants to maintain 1.5m physical distance at all times. Note: physical distancing does not apply to members of the same household.

2. The 2 square metre rule applies in the show hall – this sets the limit on the number of people allowed in the venue.

3. Public are permitted in the show hall – pending COVID.

4. A non-contact, proactive temperature screening shall be in place before entry. Temperature screening shall ensure that people with a fever (37.4°C or more) are restricted from entry.

2

5. Before entering and exiting the venue, exhibitors will sanitise their hands. Hand sanitisers and wipes will be set up, throughout the hall. We also ask that people bring their own sanitisers/ wipes to use regularly throughout the day.

6. The NSW Government recommends people wear a mask if they cannot reliably stay 1.5 metres from others - unless they are under the age of 12. Wearing a face mask is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.

7. Each Group Section will be assigned a Bay Manager. The Bay Manager will be available to ensure that benching, judging, cat welfare and departure after the show are managed in accordance with show rules and physical distancing requirements. You must follow their direction at all times.

22. Consistent with current practice, the Judge may, at their discretion, call Exhibitors into the bay to present their cats for their top awards. 24. Lunch breaks for Judges and Workers will be staggered and all will be required to adhere to 1.5m distancing while seated for lunch.

26. Awards, especially any prizes, should be placed in the Exhibitor’s car as soon as possible at the direction of the Floor Manager, to assist with departure at the end of the day.

27. Departure – removal of cats from show hall – will also be staggered. The Bay Manager will manage exhibitors in their bay and will call in exhibitors as soon as the previous exhibitor has exited the bay.

28. Exhibitors may be permitted to depart the show hall at the completion of judging and prior to best in show presentations in accordance with point 26 above, and with the approval of the Floor Manager. INTRODUCIN G OU R JUDGE S

DEBBIE (Debs) ARMISHAW (GCCFSA) I have been involved within the cat world since 1986 and started breeding Siamese/Orientals in 1990, when I was granted my prefix "Pernpet" and my first breeding girl came to rule my life. I have bred Siamese & Oriental for approximately 25 years and I’m currently owned by a couple of Oriental Bi–colours. I obtained my shorthair license in 2001 and my longhair license in 2017 after successfully passing all my assignments and exams as a transfer judge in 2016. I have moved from Sydney to Adelaide and am a member of GCCFSA. I have lived in Australia twice before, in 1984–1985, and again in 2010–2012, after the Canterbury earthquakes, and now have decided to make Australia my home once again. I returned to New Zealand in 2012 and applied to re–join the NZCF judging fraternity. In 2015 I was elected to the Executive Council. I held the following Portfolios: Judges, IT, and Registrations. I ended my three–year tenure also holding the Vice Chair position. Over the past 30 plus years I have been involved in all the various aspects of the Cat World, breeding, judging, Club committees and running cat shows. Most recently, as part of the Executive for CATS NSW, prior to my move to South Australia. I have judged in New Zealand, Australia, and China. In my other life, I have worked as an HSSEQ Advisor, Chef, Bus and Forklift Driver, and also a Lab Technician. I have travelled over most of NZ, been to Fiji, USA, and China.

C INDY GR IMES (F CCV) I have always had a cat in my life since I was toddler and they all have been my best friends. I have been involved in the cat fancy since 1997 when I started showing desexed Spotted Mist cats (aka Australian Mist) as they were known then. I bred and showed Australian Mists under the Djindi prefix until 2008. In 2004, I became captivated by the beautiful soft curly coat of the and started breeding them in 2005, under the prefix Curls. During my time as a breeder, I have also bred Exotics, Persians and under the Djindi prefix and now I have started breeding the elegant Russian. During 2015 – 2017 I was awarded GCCFV Inc Group 3 Breeder of the Year. Since 1997 I have been an active member of any organisation that I have held membership with. I have held positions of show manager for affiliate clubs, association’s and the Royal RASV show. In 1999 I qualified as a judge’s steward. Between 2008-2014, I was t he a ssistant s ecretary o f t h e G CCFV a n d th e G roup 3 R e gistrar fo r bo th G C CFV Inc an d CV Inc . I q u a lified as an Op en All Sho rthair J ud ge in June 2 0 1 4. In 2 015 I be c a m e a S e n io r All Sho r thair J u dge a nd I qua lifie d a s a n All Br e eds J u d g e in 201 8 . I hav e judge d i n mo s t state s o f Australi a an d hav e judge d i n New Zealan d i n 201 6 an d 2017 .

ELIZABE T H ANDRESE N (GCCFS A ) I began showing Siamese in South Australian in 1978. During 1979, I relocated to Alice Springs, Northern Territory. In 1981 I commenced my judges training in Group 2 (Siamese/Oriental). I then continued on to complete my Group 3 and then the longhair in 2000, making me an All Breeds ACF Judge. I have judged in most States and Territories in Australia. My first overseas judging assignment was in Kuala Lumpur in 2001 and New Zealand in 2004, 2005, 2017 and 2018 and 2016 and 2017 in China. I have over the 39 years bred Siamese/Oriental, British Shorthair, , Abyssinian and currently Burmese with my husband Scoot. I held the position of the ACF Judges Guild Treasurer from 1991 to 2005 and I have now resumed that office again. I am a life member of CANT, Northern Territory. I am a committee member holding the position of Prefix recorder and also a member of the Tutor Panel. I enjoy judging and breeding our beautiful felines and meeting old and new friends on my travels. I have judged in most States and Territories in Australia. My first International Judging Assignment was in Kuala Lumpur in 2001 and then New Zealand in 2004, 2005, 2017 and 2018 and China in 2016 and 2017.

CAROLE G A LLI (C ATS W A) I began breeding Burmese cats in 2000 after falling in love with a very Nortie Brown Tortie. I loved the O gene colours and bred reds and creams in particular along with the torties. In 2003 I met my first and fell in love with their delightful temperament and silver coats. I applied for an experimental program to breed , beginning with the foundation matings between Burmese and Chinchilla. Working with two other breeders I was able to add higher generation Burmillas into the program. I specialise in short hair Burmillas and occasionally breed a long hair litter. I breed the Burmilla in all colours including the O Gene series. In 2011 I included the Mandalay into my breeding program. I became an All Shorthair judge in June 2018 and I commenced Group One training in 2017.

SCOTT (Scoot) ANDRESEN (GCCFSA) Known widely as “Scoot”. I grew up in the far north of New Zealand and always had a passion for animals, cats in particular. I moved to Alice Springs in 1990 and became involved in the cat fancy when I met my wife Liz, who bred Siamese/Orientals at the time. Eventually, I commenced training in Group 2, joining the Australian Cat Federation panel in 2005 and extended to all Shorthair in 2009. I am now an All Breeds Judge. I have judged in most states of Australia and overseas in New Zealand and China. I have recently moved to Adelaide, South Australia and affiliated with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy South Australia. International Assignments: 2015, 2017 and 2018 New Zealand and China in 2016 and 2017.

MARGARET S IM ( N SW C FA) I have always had cats, firstly moggies then my father bred Seal Point Siamese. I met a pair of Burmese in the early 1970’s and fell in total love with them, especially the Blue Burmese. When I settled down in Sydney I went in search of a Blue Burmese and ended up with a Lilac and Chocolate – they converted my partner Don to cats and in particular Burmese. He in turn converted me to Labrador Retrievers. We moved out of the city to Moss Vale – we had space and time so I commenced breeding and showing in 1987 under the prefix Bima. I breed all colours of Burmese and love them all – my favourites are blue, red and blue tortie. This led to stewarding which gave me a love of many other breeds and in 1994 I commenced a judging course. I completed Group 2 in 1996, Group 3 in 1998 and in 2009 completed Group 1. I have judged in most states of Australia as well as in New Zealand. I have been involved in clubs – club secretary, committee member a nd a m c urrently P resident o f t h e B urmese C at S ociety o f A ustralasia. I am an active member of The Jacaranda and Holiday Coast Cat Club. I am a Steward and love my Stewarding duties and embrace the opportunity to work as a Companion Judge. I understand how important Companion Cats are to their owners, as I still show my 16yo Burmese in the Companion ring. RETURNED CHEQUES: Should any cheque be returned unpaid, a bank cheque, money order, or EFT transfer will be required to ensure that the entry is processed, and the costs incurred by the club for the returned cheque shall be paid by the exhibitor.

AMENDMENTS TO SEX/COLOUR/TITLES: Any change to the sex or colour/pattern or the title of an exhibit after an entry has been lodged must be submitted in writing to the Show Secretary together with a copy of the amended Certificate of Registration no later than one week prior to the show date unless arrangements have been made with the Show Secretary to provide the changes at a later date. No changes will be made to the catalogue or judging slips on the show day.

CLAWS TO BE CLIPPED: The front and back claws of each exhibit must be clipped. Judges may class an exhibit as Not in Show Condition (NSC) when the claws are not adequately clipped.

VETERINARY INSPECTION: Each exhibit must be inspected by and pass the Veterinary Officer’s Inspection – REFER Point 13 – In Cage Vetting

VACCINATION OF KITTENS: All kittens must be vaccinated and at least one vaccination must be administered by a qualified veterinary practitioner. Exhibitors must produce documentary evidence (valid vaccination certificate signed by a qualified vet) for each kitten, and a vaccination shall have been carried out not less than 14 days prior to the date of the show. Failure to produce a valid vaccination certificate at vetting may result in a single vet out for the kitten concerned. (See also Show Procedure 6.3 c).)

AGGRESSIVE EXHIBITS: A Judge or Steward is not required to handle any exhibit showing signs of aggression. Owners have a duty of care not to bench any exhibit that has a reported history of fractious behaviour. The Show Manager in consultation with the Show Representative may request the removal of any such exhibit from the show.

NSWCFA CAT/KITTEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS: To be eligible for Cat of the Year award a cat must be in the continuous ownership of a NSWCFA financial member throughout the year. Points are awarded based on the Top Five results at a show – 1 st -10pts; 2 nd – 7pts; 3 rd - 4pts; 4t h – 2pts; 5t h – 1pt.

Note 1. Where an owner becomes a member after the start of a calendar year, points will only accumulate from the date the membership application is processed by the NSW CFA Office.

Note 2. If during the year a cat is transferred to a new owner who is not a member, the cat’s ownership by a financial member will be deemed continuous provided a membership application from the new owner is received and recorded by the NSW CFA Office within 4 weeks of the date of transfer, otherwise note 1 shall apply.

Note 3. Where an interstate, Cats NSW, or ANCATS exhibit gains a Top Five placing, then that placing remains awarded to that exhibit and the placing of NSW CFA exhibits is not altered.
