of San Antonio welcomes all devotees to participate in the Manidweepa Varnana Pooja From March 28th through April 4th 2017 Pooja Timings: 7.00-8.45 PM on weekdays and 6.30-8.30 PM on Weekends

This year, HTSA will be also celebrating Vasanta (beginning on , lunar day) by performing Manidweepa Varnana Pooja in addition to Sharan Navaratri (celebrated in Ashvayuja Masa during Dushara/Vijay Dashimi time). What is the Manidweepa Varnana Pooja?

 Manidweepam is the holy abode of Adi (Lalitha Paramershwari/Rajarajeshwari). This sacred place is guarded by , , and as well as and -ganas and surrounded by Sacred Rivers, trees etc.  Manidweepa Varnana sloka recitation is a form of worship of Goddess . It can be performed at any time. However, the most auspicious time is during the Navaratri. As per Vedic scriptures, one who recites Manidweepa Varnana , Devi blesses with wealth and prosperity and fulfills his or her wishes. Nobody, not even Lord Adisesha cannot describe the glories and benefits of Manidweepa Stotra recital, such is the greatness of this worship.  Manidweepa Varnana Pooja is performed for nine days by reciting 32 Slokas nine times each day (9 x 9). At the end of each phrase - a flower, a fruit, a pinch of kumkum, haldi, chandan and akshatas near Mother Goddess feet is offered. At the conclusion of nine rounds on each day, rest of the pooja such as Archana to Devi and other Upacharas (dhoopa-deepa- naivedyam etc.) will be offered. Each day 4 or more ladies (based on the number of participants) will take a leading role of performing the Pooja and all participates will be involved in the chanting of Devi’s glory. The group taking the leading role is responsible for bringing needed flowers and prasadam for offering and sharing with fellow participants and devotees for that day. The same practice will be repeated for the remaining days. Please sign up and be part of this unique worship.
