Helpful features on the OverDrive digital collection screen.

 New To Digital ? Lists devices that are compatible with OverDrive. Find help on getting started with your eReader.  Digital Software. OverDrive Media Console shows where to get the free OverDrive app. that is necessary to download eBooks and audiobooks to mobile devices – Android, iPhone/iPad/iPod, Blackberry, and Windows Phone. is necessary to download eBooks to the Nook, Sony, Kobo, and Pandigital Novel.  Kindle and Kindle Fire do not require any downloaded software. They are handled directly through .com.

Search the digital collection.

 Browse special genres on left side of screen. Featured lists are in the center. Click on complete list … to get more titles and information for that section.  Search collection for an author or title using the Digital Media Search box.  Check Only Available Copies box to find available titles.  Advanced Search. Use to get a more detailed search. Note: This is helpful for Kindle users in

limiting to the Kindle format.

Check out eBooks.

 Click on add to cart to check out the available title. Choose a Kindle for the Kindle, and devices with a Kindle app. Choose Adobe EPUB for all other devices.  Click on place a hold to put a hold on a title that is not available. Once a hold is available, you will receive an e-mail and will have 3 days to check it out.  Click on Proceed to Checkout from the My Cart screen.

Sign in to your account.

 Select Hayner Library from the list of libraries.  Enter your Hayner Library card number without any spaces, and 4-digit PIN.

 Click on Confirm Check Out from the Check Out screen.

 Click on Download from the Download screen.

 You will Open with: Adobe Digital Editions, which you previously had downloaded.  Click OK.

 When the eBook goes to ADE, you will be in reading view.  Click on the set of library books in the upper left corner of the Adobe screen.  Plug in your USB cord to connect your eReader device to your computer. The device icon will show up at the bottom of the list on the left side of the Adobe screen.  Click and drag your downloaded eBook to the eReader device icon. Your eBook is now ready to read on your eReader device.
