Coming from a family of talented musicians and vocalists, Albert was destined to become a part of the music industry. Albert’s Mother, the late Marie Gibson, was a well-known South African Country & Western Singer, best known for her hit single, “One Day at a Time” which went Gold and sold in excess of 50 000 copies through EMI-Brigadiers Music. Marie was the first South African female to perform in Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry in Tennessee in the USA. Albert’s Uncles, Kenny Gibson and the late Johnny Gibson are/were also accomplished, talented musicians and vocalists. Albert formed a band called “Young Ones”, featuring Michael Davis on bass guitar, his “other” brother Darryl on keyboards, and Albert on drums. Together, “Young Ones” entertained all over Johannesburg for many years at various clubs & pubs. Albert joined the band Coast to Coast as lead vocalist, together with Wayne, Michael Davis and Anton Potgieter. Coast to Coast performed around Johannesburg at various pubs & clubs, such as, Jokers, Caesars Palace, as well as traveled to further destinations such as Gaberone. Anton went on to pursue other interests and Coast to Coast continued touring, this time to Natal, touring the South & East Coasts on the pub and club circuit over a two- year period. Returning to Johannesburg, Coast to Coast continued with gigs for a short period, then parted ways. Albert went on to pursue a solo career, performing in pubs & restaurants singing and playing the keyboard for the next year in Johannesburg and Natal. In later years, Albert, together with David de Lange and Giddes revitalised Coast to Coast and continued to entertain crowds in Johannesburg for the next 4 yrs in both Natal (Rockefellas, Club Med, Killarney Hotel, Backline, St Mikes Hotel) and Johannesburg (pubs and restaurants at the Randburg Waterfront, such as the Waterfront Arms, Quay 4 and Morgan’s Cat) to name a few. Coast to Coast came to an end and Wayne, Albert and Michael realigned and changed the name to Foolish Behaviour. Michael moved on to pursue other interests and Wayne and Albert continued performing on the club/pub circuit in Johannesburg and in high profile venues outside of the Johannesburg area, such as Sun City, Valley of The Waves, Carnival City, Caesars Palace, Emerald and Carousel Casino’s. Wayne re-joined Avalanche and Albert then formed the Duo, “Sent-E-Mental”, with female vocalist Kerry-Ann, entertaining the pub and club circuit for the next two years, before getting together with Wayne again in 2003. Together they re-established Foolish Behavior entertaining guests at pubs, clubs, corporate functions and private parties as they are today, with hits from the 60’s to the 90’s, as well as some of the latest hits. 4 WAYNE Wayne started his music career at the tender age of 14. During his teen years he dedicated his time and passion in perfecting his guitar technique becoming an accomplished guitarist. In 1988, he turned professional with a band called Shout! Shout was a 5 piece pop/rock outfit that mainly played at major festivals and varsity campus gigs around the country. The band released an EP called Guns & Games and three singles namely “Don’t Dance’, Where Did The Feeling Go’ and ‘Reaching Out’, which had chart success on 5fm. Shout!, also appeared on SABC’s popular music video show “Fast Forward”. During conscription in the Entertainment Corps, Wayne performed with Patricia Lewis and the Physco Reptiles as Lead Guitarist and backing vocals. Together with Kurt Darren, Anton Potgieter, Michael Davies & Chris Coffee, he formed a band called Coast to Coast; which entertained crowds at various venues within South Africa for the SANDF as well as privately. Wayne appeared on “Teletreffers” on SABC alongside De Wet Ryte during this period. After his 18 month stint in the Entertainment Corps; Wayne, with Michael and joined by Albert Heuer, continued as ‘Coast to Coast’; performing around Johannesburg at various pubs & clubs, such as Jokers, Caesars Palace; touring Durban, South & East Coast on the pub and club circuit. As well as traveling to further destinations such as Gaberone. It was during this time that Wayne was voted the 4th best guitarist on the Coastal Circuit. Coast to Coast parted ways after 2 years, with Wayne & Michael forming the ever-popular Johannesburg cover band ‘Avalanche’. For the next 4 years Avalanche continued to grow in popularity before disbanding. Wayne, Albert & Michael once again joined forces, changing the name of the band to FOOLISH BEHAVIOUR; performing on the club circuit in Johannesburg and in high profile outskirt venues which include Sun City, Valley of The Waves, Carnival City, Caesars Palace, Emerald and Carousel Casino. Wayne rejoined Avalanche which had reformed. The next 5 years saw Avalanche growing in popularity and was labeled as one of the top South African Cover Bands in Johannesburg. All gigs were high profile and included a Y2K New Year’s Eve Party at Caesars Palace as well as the launch of the new VW Beetle. Clients included Sun International and Nashua. Avalanche toured South Africa; all the neighbouring countries as well as a doing a stint abroad in Bahrain and Dubai. Due to a tragic fatal motor vehicle accident, Avalanche lost their 2 lead vocalists. Shortly thereafter Avalanche disbanded. Wayne & Albert realigned again in 2003 forming the Duo, Foolish Behaviour as it’s known today. Together they perform cover versions of a wide variety of music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, concentrating on the die hard classics from those era’s as well as some recent popular pop music. 5 RECENT REFERENCES: 17 May 2010 Hi Anne , Please convey my thanks to the guys for their performance on Saturday night .
