Celebrate Independence Day 2020 with NFDC’s Cinemas of India
August 6, 2020: As part of Independence Day Celebrations 2020, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is organising various programmes through its Media Units to create a festive and patriotic mood amongst the Indians across the globe.
With regards to the 73rd Independence Day celebrations, National Film Development Corporation’s (NFDC) Cinemas of India will be bringing you a heartfelt selection of films showcasing the Indian history that remarks the bravery of our freedom fighters.
Let’s celebrate this Independence Day watching critically acclaimed films from various Indian languages including Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati and Malayalam. The selection showcases a consolidated collection of films from National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), National Film Archive of India (NFAI), Children's Film Society India (CFSI) and Films Division.
Moreover, for the first time ever, the film Gandhi (1982) by Sir Richard Attenborough will be made accessible and can be enjoyed by people with vision and hearing impairment.
All the high-quality Independence Day themed films will be available to watch on www.cinemasofindia.com from August 7th to August 21st 2020 for free.
The abovementioned link will be hosted on the website of MIB (mib.gov.in), and the social media handle of Government of India (www.MyGov.in). Additionally, the same link will be shared with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) (mea.gov.in) for sharing it further with the Indian missions abroad.
