Tech Article How to Create a Quick Access Toolbar with ShoreTel Connect

The Connect Client allows you to create a toolbar for quick access to speed dials, transfer and many other features. These are similar to the buttons you can program on your IP phone, but exist solely within the Connect Client.

Enabling the Client Toolbar in Director

Acess ShoreTel Connect Director

Navigate to Administration > Users > Programmable Buttons

Find the user you wish to add a toolbar for

Select the Client Toolbars

Select the Client Toolbars tab

A new toolbar will appear below. Name the Toolbar and click Save. You can now configure up to 24 buttons per toolbar, with a maximum of 6 toolbars

In the first Function field, select the category for this from the drop-down list.

In the drop-down list in the second field, select the function to associate with a particular button (See below for a list of the button options)

In the Short field, type a label to appear next to the button in the client to remind the user of the buttons function. A label is required for each button.

When applicable, enter the appropriate information in the fields that appear in the Target section. Certain functions require a destination, but for other functions (such as speed-dial or blind transfer) a destination is optional. Some functions take only extensions, and some functions take any type of phone number.

Click Save

www.inflowcommunications.com Support: 855-9-INFLOW Sales: 844-4-INFLOW Adding the Toolbar to your Connect Client After you’ve added the toolbar and buttons in Director, the user can now enable the toolbar in their client and choose which buttons they want to use out of the options given to them. Note that they may need to restart their Connect Client to get the “Show Toolbar” option to appear in their drop down.

Inside the Client drop down select “Show Toolbar”. This will add the toolbar section on to the right side of the Connect Client.

You can either select “Edit Toolbar” fro.m the Client drop down menu or click the “+” button at the bottom of the toolbar to open the configuration window.

After the buttons are selected they will become usable in the toolbar pane Note: Some buttons will appear as greyed out unless you are on an active call
