Borohayes, Moretonhampsted Millwood Homes continually strives to fulfil it’s desire to be a house builder of excellence and to deliver the best 7. St. Marys House @ Sharkham Village, Brixham designs and quality possible on each individual site. As a company, we lead and develop a wide variation of local projects, many with difficult engineering issues, which is one of Millwood’s strongest attributes. This results in delivering schemes that sit naturally within a landscape to enhance and fulfil Devon’s housing requirements, whilst remaining sympathetic to it’s immediate surroundings. Purpose of the Exhibition The purpose of this exhibition is to seek the views of the local community toward the proposed development at Pinn Court Farm. A number of display boards have been prepared that show how we think the site can be best developed. We hope that feedback from this exhibition will enable us to better understand what uses the local community would like to see on the site should the development go ahead. The feedback we receive will be taken on board and will form part of our planning application to East Devon District Council.

  • Bluebell Railway Education Department Along the Line
BLUEBELL RAILWAY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT ALONG THE LINE FOR SCHOOLS SHEFFIELD PARK STATION 1. Approaching the station buildings along the drive, the picnic area can be seen to the right, adjacent to the River Ouse, where lunch can be taken. The river is little more than a stream today but it was once navigable from the sea at Newhaven to just short of Balcombe Viaduct – on the London to Brighton main line between Haywards Heath and Balcombe. The 11 million bricks used to construct the viaduct were transported up river from Lewes by barge. 2. The station is built in the Queen Anne country architectural style, a style used at all stations on the line and is painted in the colours of the line's initial operators, the London Brighton and South Coast Railway. The year in which the line opened – 1892 -can be found in the decorative plasterwork on the front of the station building. Passengers enter the station via the booking hall and purchase their old fashioned Edmondson cardboard tickets from the booking office. The station was originally lit by oil lamps but is now lit by a mix of evocative gas lighting and more modern electric lights. It sits astride the Greenwich Meridian, the exact (Photo: Bluebell Archives) location being marked by a plaque at the north end of platform 1. 3. The Railway houses and maintains its fleet of mainly steam locomotives at the station - currently it has some thirty engines in stock although only ten or so are in service at any given time – they need a boiler inspection and a new certificate every ten years.

662 Minutes of Whaddon Parish Council Precept Meeting held on 7th January 2019 at 8pm in the Village Hall, Church Street, Whaddon, Cambridgeshire, SG8 5RY. Present: Chair L Ginger Councillors R Scott, N Strudwick, J Vries, A Birch & A Milton Parish Clerk A Bridges 1.0 Apologies for Absence – W Elbourn 2.0 Parish Running Costs budget for 2019/20 – discussion and agreement of recommended budget – the Parish Running Costs were reviewed. Areas that have been underspent include the Handyman and verge cutting (the latter was assumed to be due to the very hot summer in 2018). The grass cutting of footpaths would now be added to the budget (funded from a lump sum from Cambridgeshire County Council). Local farmers would be approached to assist with cutting the grass on both the footpaths and permissive paths from this year. It was also agreed that there should be an increase in the number of Whaddon Newsletters printed and the subsequent slight cost increase was agreed. The Cllrs agreed that the recommended Parish Running Costs for 2019/2020 to be £12,940 (2018/19 be £14,058 - £1,000 was allocated in 18/19 for prospective election costs). 3.0 Consideration of the Parish Council’s Priorities for 2019/20 (and potential financial implications) – the forecast Parish running costs were reviewed and discussed. The Whaddon Village Hall & Recreation Ground Trust grant was assumed to remain at the same amount as 2018/2019 and to be kept as a joint fund. Future funding requirements relating to the village hall, garage and playground equipment were discussed.
