Adicionalmente, se reconocen mundialmente por su importancia para la biodiversidad de la región Neotropical Mesoamericana. Sin embargo, particularmente desde los últimos 50 años, la región ha sufrido un proceso de deforestación que ha transformado el paisaje notablemente. Este artículo describe la historia de colonización, desarrollo económico y conservación en la región Uxpanapa en el estado de Veracruz; y presenta las dinámicas en la cobertura de vegetación y uso de suelo, que son consecuencia de los procesos socioeconómicos. Se aplicaron técnicas de percepción remota usando imágenes satelitales multiespectrales y Sistemas de Información Geográfica para la determinación de los tipos de uso de suelo y los cambios suscitados de 1972 a 2009 teniendo como resultado una tasa de deforestación de 2.1%. Adicionalmente, se integró un análisis paisajístico sobre los procesos de deforestación y fragmentación de las selvas obteniendo una fragmentación con 2693 parches con un promedio de 163 ha en 1972 que sube a 25,396 parches de 7 ha de promedio en el 2009. Se discute este impacto y estrategias para la conservación de biodiversidad. Programa de Vigilancia Epidemiológico del Cafeto (PVEF-Cafeto) RESUMEN EJECUTIVO Durante Marzo 2021, el Ciclo Productivo 2020-2021 en Veracruz reporta finalización del ciclo productivo 2020 en prácticamente todas las regiones productivas (consistente y maduro <1%), con l cual el Ciclo Productivo 2021-2022 se encuentra en desarrollo para las regiones cafetaleras con brotación (30.3%), flor (46.4%) y amarre (22.1%). El Ciclo Epidémico 2020-2021 de Hemileia vastatrix en Veracruz de acuerdo a 375 evaluaciones en parcelas fijas y móviles a nivel estatal del PVEF-Cafeto, se encuentra en 6% severidad promedio foliar y 21.6% de severidad promedio de planta con tendencia decreciente desde enero 2021. Debido al inicio del ciclo epidémico-productivo, 3/26 municipios reportan severidad promedio foliar 10-17.2%, 11/26 reportan entre 5-10% y 12/26 entre 1-5%. En este periodo regiones productoras de Ixhuatlán, Tepetlán, Yecuatla, Vega Alatorre, Juchique, Teocelo y Huatusco reportaron severidad de planta entre 30.7-44.1%, mientras que el resto reportaron 9.4-29.9%. En los municipios evaluados, el rango de severidad de planta estuvo entre 9.4 – 44.1% y 1.2 – 16.5% en hoja. Respecto al factor Edad, la severidad en planta fue variable en todos los rangos de edad con 6.7 – 34.2%, y en severidad foliar fue ligeramente de 0.4 – 16.5%. -

Sin embargo al pasar el tiempo las mujeres han demostrado tener la capacidad de poder actuar en espacios públicos, de ser tomadoras de decisiones en la vida pública de una sociedad e incluso ser jefas de familia, han llegado a ocupar puestos y han desempañado extraordinariamente cargos que en la antigüedad eran exclusivo para hombres, todo esto derivado de la toma de decisiones de los sectores políticos, de las actividades económicas y del avance de la ciencia y la tecnología. -

Darting around the feeders, dive-bombing interlopers, perching and preening, the hummingbirds go about their business within close range of quiet, delighted observers. Hummingbird photo & art by Alison Sheehey And for the past two years, the preserve has hosted special weekends to celebrate these tiny birds—six species of which can be seen here. This summer, the celebration will be on July 27-29 and August 3-5, with classes, slide shows, lectures, field trips and hummingbird banding. Donald Mitchell, a hummingbird specialist from the University of Minnesota, has been conducting research in the Kern Valley and surrounding mountains for several years. He is particularly interested in finding out how feeders may have affected the distribution and migratory habits of of hummingbirds. And he’s especially knowledgeable about Allen’s, having written the Birds of North America’s account on this species, which so closely resembles the rufous.
