Commonly referred to as Portimão Circuit, this 4.692 km (2.915 mi) race circuit located in Portugal’s Algarve district was designed by Ricardo Pina. The only previous F1 action held here was in the form of three group testing sessions involving , McLaren, Renault, Williams, Toyota and Toro Rosso in December 2008 and January 2009, but out of the 2021 grid, only took part in those tests.
