SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

Canceling Masses is monumental. No Mass means no Eu- charist. Holy Communion unites us with Christ and cleans- es us from venial sins.

The Church teaches us that we can still unite ourselves to the Eucharist through making a Spiritual Communion. By making an Act of Spiritual Communion, we express our faith in Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist and ask him to unite himself with us. THE NINE FIRST FRIDAYS Many of the saints practiced this throughout the day such as Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Padre Pio and St. Josemaria Escriva, who encouraged every- one to do so frequently for a closer union with God. On Friday, May 1, 2020 at Mary Queen of Peace, we will continue to observe the Nine First Fridays devotion to the Sacred Heart of “If you practice the holy exercise of Spiritual Communion Jesus This was the first devotion that Jesus, Himself, gave to St. each day, within a month you will see your heart completely Margaret Mary Alacoque with 12 Great Promises.
