Anticancer & Antibacterial Activities Insecticidal Activity Evolutionary Studies Novel compounds from predatory assassin bugs as insecticidal and medical purposes [email protected] M. Tonk1*, N. Vilcinskas1,2 Deadly straw Assassin bugs are arthropod-feeding predators capable of microinjecting venom and killing their prey within seconds 1 To kill, these bugs: 2 ▪ (1) grab their prey, stab it with a proboscis to inject micro amounts of paralysing and digesting venom ▪ (2) then ingurgitate their pre-digested meal Venomics Assassin bugs (Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae) possess potent venom used to kill and pre-digest various arthropods as preys. The present study evaluates the insecticidal, cytotoxic and antibacterial effect of crude venom of Rhynocoris iracundus. Strong cytotoxic activity on all tested cell lines and potent antibacterial effect on Escherichia coli was found. To characterise R. iracundus venom in detail and identify the major compounds responsible for its activity, a modern omics-based approach is performed. Identified candidates in the venom will be selected based on their activity and tested for potential agricultural and therapeutic applications. The article presents the results oF field studies years 2018-2019 conducted at the Charyn SNNP. As a result oF studies, 30 species oF carnivores from 5 heteroptera families were identified: Nabidae (4 species), Anthocoridae (12 species), Reduviidae (3 species), Miridae (5 species), Pentatomidae (6 species). Zoophages by trophic specialization. By the number oF generations per year, they are divided into 3 groups: monovoltaic (18 species), bivoltine (5 species), polyvoltine (6 species), the number oF generations is unknown in 1 species. Among the predatory true bugs oF the Charyn SNNP, 21 species winter in the adult stage, 3 species in the adult stage and larvae, and 6 species in the egg stage. By environmental features, all types are mesophiles. By confinement to the habitats, the semi-winged oF Charyn SNNP are divided into several groups: dendrobionts (15 species), dendro- tamnobionts (2 species), dendro-tamno-hortobionts (2 species), dendro-hortobionts (9 species), tamno-hortobiont (1 view), eurybiont (1 view). 2 species are listed in the Red Book oF Almaty region: Arma custos (Fabricius, 1794) and Zicrona caerulea (Linnaeus, 1758).

Structures that assist in spreading secretions produced by the metathoracic glands were examined in Reduviidae and Pachynomidae (Heteroptera). The systematic distribution of a row of long and stout setae on the metacoxa, the metacoxal comb, was reinvestigated in a representative sample in both taxa. Observations on living Dipetalogaster maximus (Reduviidae: Triatominae) corroborated the interpretation of this metacoxal comb as an evaporatory device, which assists in atomizing the gland secretions. In addition to the metacoxal comb, a row of stout setae on the metacetabulum – a metacetabular comb – was found in several Reduvii- dae, which interacts with the metacoxal comb during rotation of the metacoxa. In addition to those atomizing devices, cuticular modifications surrounding the opening of the metathoracic gland, which presumably form evaporatoria, were discovered in Ectricho- diinae. The meshwork-like structure of this cuticle resembles the cuticular modifications found associated with the opening of the Brindley’s gland in Reduviidae, but differs from the mushroom-like evaporatoria around the metathoracic glands in most Cimi- comorpha and Pentatomomorpha. Thus, two fundamentally different mechanisms to spread secretions of the metathoracic gland – atomization and evaporation – are present in Reduviidae. Review Process: When submitting manuscripts, all authors provides the name, of at least three qualified experts (they also provide their address, subject fields and e-mails). Then, the editors send to experts to review the papers. The review process should normally be completed within 45-60 days. After reviewing papers by reviwers: Rejected papers are discarded. For accepted papers, authors are asked to modify their papers according to suggestions of the reviewers and editors.
