If your student has recently lost a personal belonging, please ask him or her to check the lost and found bins which are located near the attendance desks in each building.

Items that are not claimed by the last day of school will be donated to charity. 2012 SUMMER SCHOOL OPTIONS

No Credit Earned in Academic Courses Students earning No Credit (NC) in one or more academic courses must contact their home school districts to make up course work during summer school. Students interested in taking online courses must supply a copy of the course syllabus and obtain approval from school administration prior to enrolling in courses. SPCPA does NOT accept credits associated with grades below a C- (70 %) or graded on a pass/fail basis. (Student Handbook page 14)

Former students have taken classes through the following online school to make up credits: BYU Online - http://is.byu.edu/site/

Things to remember about summer school and online school options:

1) SPCPA is on semesters. Some school districts are on quarters. Two quarters equals one semester. Some school districts are on trimesters. You need to take two trimesters to get enough credit for a semester. Three trimesters will equal a year.

SPCPA credit designations are as follows: A SPCPA quarter is .250 credits, a trimester is .333 credits, a semester is .500 credits, and a year is 1.0 credits.

2) SPCPA only accepts letter grades for credit and the student must receive a C- or above to receive credit towards graduation.

*SPCPA does not cover the cost of any summer school options that require payment.

If you have any questions about summer school options, please contact Mark Grossklaus, Associate Director, at [email protected] or 651-290-2225.

MAKING UP ARTS CREDITS

No Credit Earned in Art Courses

Students earning No Credit (NC) in art courses will be required to make up equivalent credit to meet SPCPA graduation requirements by contacting and completing community service at a non-profit organization. Forty-eight (48) hours of community service are required before a student will receive equivalent credit for a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday arts course. Twenty-four (24) hours of community service are associated with Friday arts courses.

Students with No Credit (NC) in one or more arts courses must make an appointment with and obtain approval for their proposed community service hours from Mr. Grossklaus prior to completing hours. Students receiving No Credit (NC) in two or more arts courses after the start of the 2011-2012 school year will not be eligible to receive a diploma from SPCPA. (Student Handbook page 15)

If you have any questions about community service options, please contact Mark Grossklaus, Associate Director, at [email protected] or 651-290-2225. Friday, May 18th is the Last Day of School for the Senior Class. Students will be released at 3:50 p.m., normal dismissal time.

Wednesday, May 23rd is the Last Day of School for Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. They will be released early at 12:25 p.m. on this day.
