GETTING TO THE MIAMI MERCEDES-BENZ CORPORATE RUN What You Should Know Over 27,000 participants are expected in Downtown Miami on Thursday April 23th, 2015. Continue reading for road closure, detour, course map, transit, and driving information. Bayfront Park is located at 301 North Biscayne Blvd, Miami FL 33132 Taking Transit to Bayfront Park You will need an EASY Card or EASY Ticket to ride on Metrorail. The round trip fare is $4.50 and parking at the Metrorail stations is $4.50 per day, including weekends and holidays. Visit Miami-Dade Transit’s home page, www.miamidade.gov/transit, for complete schedules, station maps, parking locations, and more. Or use their iPhone or Android app, www.miamidade.gov/transit/transit-tracker-app.asp. To get to Bayfront Park, ride Metrorail to either Government Center Station or to the Brickell Station. Then ride the free Metromover to Bayfront Park. We strongly recommend exiting at either First Street Station or College Bayside MetroMover Stations. Those two stops service all Tent Areas north of Flagler St and the shortest route to the entrance of the starting corrals. Purchasing a Transit Easy Card You will need an EASY Card or EASY Ticket to ride Metrorail. You can buy an EASY Card or EASY Ticket at any EASY Card ticket vending machine located at Metrorail stations. The ticket vending machines accept cash and credit cards. A two way ticket costs $4.50. Parking at a Station Parking at the Metrorail stations is $4.50. Paying for parking on race day can take up to one hour due to the high volume of transit users. -

ROAD CLOSURE ADVISORY SUNDAY, JANUARY 29th, 2017 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. MIAMI, FL – The following road closures will take place around the city on Sunday, January 29th, 2017 for the 15th Annual Miami Marathon and Half Marathon produced by Life Time Fitness Athletic Events. The race will begin at 6:00 a.m. at the American Airlines Arena downtown and will proceed to Miami Beach via the MacArthur Causeway, up Ocean Drive, over the Venetian Causeway and as far south as Coconut Grove. All participants are completely off the of the course by 2:00 PM for the reopening of the roads, however, most of the roadways will be clear before then due to the rolling reopening procedures. Roads will be closed and managed by the City of Miami, Miami Beach and Miami Dade Police Departments. Downtown Miami is not the same place it was 10 years ago when South Florida last hosted the Super Bowl, the country’s biggest stage and most watched televised event of the year. Downtown Miami was a 9-to-5 only business district and a virtual ghost town on nights and weekends. Travel to Miami almost exclusively consisted of visiting the beach for sun, sand and shopping. Here are some of the changes that has come to the area: Downtown Miami is home to a vast array of culturally themed restaurants, high end and discount retail, hotels, parks, museums and transit that didn’t exist 10 years ago. From the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) to the Frost Museum of Science and more, Downtown Miami is now home to the highest concentration of cultural institutions in the Southeast. A visit to the Frost Museum of Science is a must for tourists and residents alike. The design elements of the museum utilize space and light to create an ambiance that augments the exhibits. Luxury Condo Markets Sprout in Downtowns
Brian Bandell | Senior Reporter | South Florida Business Journal Luxury condo markets sprout in downtowns South Florida beaches were once the prime domain for luxury condo units listing for $1 million or more. But bustling downtowns and neighboring communities have become strong players in the market. The influx of high-priced units has attracted more wealthy residents near the urban cores of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. And those spending $1 million or more for a condo are likelier to live there – even if part time – as opposed to renting them out for investment purposes. That means a greater stream of deep-pocketed spenders frequenting local businesses. But despite the boon to the local economy, some experts warn of an imminent slowdown in luxury condo sales – especially in Miami – due to an oversaturated market. The current inventory of units on the market could take years to sell off, even as new luxury buildings near completion. With so many units on the market in Miami, those who bought at the beginning of the cycle would likely end up selling their condos at a loss, said Peter Zalewski, a principal with Miami-based Condo Vultures. Many developers are reluctant to start new projects now because they can’t price units at the premium levels reached a few years ago, he added. Despite that, the majority of the units in many of the latest luxury buildings delivered in downtown areas have sold. New standard for downtown Miami The One Thousand Museum condominium, designed by late architect Zaha Hadid, set a new standard for luxury condo sales in downtown Miami, especially on Biscayne Boulevard. -
