Downtown Miami Freight Mobility Study – PORTMIAMI Future Travel Demand Presentation Port Factors Impacting Downtown

Aggressiveness of Growth Plan Amount of Port Transshipment at Port Cargo Movements via Rail (ICTF) Tunnel / Bridge Traffic Split Cardinal Direction Freight Origin-Destination Cruise Business • Passenger Access to PortMiami • Provisioning Trucks Serving Vessels Development Intensity of Commercial Area

Downtown Miami Freight Mobility Study – PORTMIAMI Future Travel Demand Presentation Transshipment

Transshipment means that maritime cargo entering the Port by ocean carrier is “transshipped” to another ocean carrier for a new destination without entering the local highway or rail networks. PortMiami anticipates that between 2015 and 2020, transshipment will grow to 10% of all containerized cargo at the Port. Cargo Movements via Rail

Currently 1-2% of Freight Travels Via Rail By 2020 Port Expects 18% of Freight Via Rail ICTF Capacity = 250,000 Moves/Year = 425,000 TEU’s Future Train Makeup • Freight Platform = 1,800’ • Typical Freight Car = 60’ • Train Makeup = 30 Cars Freight Platform (ICTF)
