Often referred to as the “Harvard of ” Sheridan has been a world leader in Animation education for more than 50 years. Our Bachelor of Animation, and post-graduate certificates in , Digital Creature Animation – Technical Direction and Visual Effects are consistently ranked the Top 10 in the world. What makes Sheridan so special? Our faculty have a combined total of 300 years of animation experience with techniques that are commonly used in the industry and they teach you in state-of-the-art facilities with much of the same software and hardware used at studios today. Around 95% of graduates from our programs end up employed in the industry, landing positions at studios such as Disney, , , , DreamWorks, Guru, Industrial Light + Magic, Pipeline and . It’s at Sheridan’s annual Industry Day where many of those same firms come to campus to view graduating student films, interview and in many cases hire students.

Sheridan has been the training ground for seven Academy Award Winners, nine nominees, seven Emmy winners, 28 nominees as well as trailblazers like Domee Shi, the first female to direct a Pixar short, with her Academy Award winning film Bao; Steve “Spaz” Williams who created the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park that revolutionized the VFX Industry; Steven Clay Hunter who’s short Out features not only the Pixar’s first gay character but its first gay couple; Dean Deblois who has written and directed some of the most beloved animated films like Lilo & Stitch and the How to Train Your Dragon franchise and Chris Williams, executive produced Ralph Breaks The Internet, co-wrote/co-directed Moana & Bolt and directed Big Hero 6 for which he won an Oscar. Sheridan graduates have recently served as Animation Director/VFX Supervisors for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Birdbox, Avengers – Infinity War and Terminator: Dark Fate and their newest work will soon be seen on screen in Space Jam 2, Jurassic World: Dominion and A Quiet Place 2.
