Cast Bios Nicollette Sheridan ‘ALL YOURS’ CAST BIOS NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN (Cass) – Nicollette Sheridan has won a worldwide audience with her past television and film roles. The talented actress/producer/writer exploded on the small screen with her Golden Globe nominated role of Edie Britt, the hilarious and audacious bombshell of Wisteria Lane, on ABC’s hit Emmy award winning show “Desperate Housewives.” Sheridan was honored in her native England, receiving the 2006 Glamour Women of the Year Award for Best U.S. TV Actress, adding to her back-to-back 2005-2006 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born and raised in England, Sheridan discovered a passion for ballet as a small child and studied furiously, broadening her love of the arts as a student at the Arts Educational School in London. In addition to theatre, she nurtured her talents as an avid equestrienne, a sculptress and is an outstanding athlete. Moving to Los Angeles and being courted to explore her talents was a natural progression. Sheridan became a household name portraying the intelligent, powerful and manipulative Paige Matheson on “Knots Landing.” This led to a myriad of other roles including those in “The People Next Door” with Faye Dunaway, “A Time To Heal” opposite Gary Cole, “Indictment: The McMartin Trial” with James Woods and “Dead Husbands” with John Ritter, along with a special guest appearance on the season finale of “Will & Grace.” Sheridan was first introduced to film audiences in Rob Reiner’s “The Sure Thing” opposite John Cusack, going on to appear in other film comedies such as “Noises Off” opposite Michael Caine, “Spy Hard” opposite Leslie Nielsen and “Beverly Hills Ninja” with Chris Farley and Chris Rock. With an affinity for the animated world, she has brought her English accent to the Disney animated series “Tarzan and Jane” and was also heard as a Russian fly in the animated feature “Fly Me to the Moon” with Tim Curry, Kelly Ripa, Christopher Lloyd and Buzz Aldrin. Sheridan starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Honeymoon for One” and produced/starred in “The Christmas Spirit.” Sheridan supports fellow actors in their creative endeavors with projects such as Scott Foley’s “Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife” and the movie “Jewtopia” with Jon Lovitz, Rita Wilson and Jennifer Love Hewitt. She also starred in the award-winning Sci Fi short film “XXit,” for Canon directed by Sam Nicholson. She also starred in a pilot for CBS directed by Larry Charles called the “Untitlted Ant Hines Project” produced by Sony Pictures Television. Additionally, Sheridan completed voicing the role of “Zenna” in Promenade Pictures’ animated film “Noah’s Arc: The New Beginning” in which she stars opposite Michael Keaton, Rob Schneider, Marcia Gay Harden and Sir Ben Kingsley. Generous with her time, Sheridan is a humanitarian and environmentalist – and has lent her devotion and star presence to philanthropic causes including those focused on women’s rights, women and children at risk, and natural disaster relief, as well as such entities as the Red Cross, Humane Society, Last Chance for Animals, Best Friends Animal Society and The Amanda Foundation. Sheridan teamed up with Natural Balance Pet Foods to raise money for National Guide Dog Awareness Month. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California. • California Court Finds Wrongful Termination Tort Too Desperate, but Permits Statutory Claim for Disparate Treatment
Management Alert California Court Finds Wrongful Termination Tort Too Desperate, But Permits Statutory Claim For Disparate Treatment California employees can file tort claims against employers who impose adverse employment actions in violation of public policy. They have used this theory to challenge wrongful terminations and demotions. In Touchstone Television Productions v. Superior Court (Sheridan), the California Court of Appeal rejected an effort to extend this tort theory to an employer’s decision not to exercise an option to renew a contract. The Facts In 2004, Touchstone Television Productions (“Touchstone”) hired actress Nicollette Sheridan (“Sheridan”) to appear in a new television series, Desperate Housewives. The parties’ agreement gave Touchstone the option to annually renew Sheridan’s employment for up to six additional seasons. Touchstone exercised its option to renew the agreement with Sheridan for Seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5. During Season 5, Sheridan reported to Touchstone that Marc Cherry, the series’ creator, had hit her during the filming of an episode. Five months after this alleged incident, Touchstone informed Sheridan that it would not exercise its option to renew her contract for Season 6, because her character would be killed during Season 5. Sheridan continued to work during Season 5, filming three more episodes and doing publicity for the series. Sheridan sued Touchstone and Cherry in April 2010. She asserted various claims, including a claim that Touchstone fired her in retaliation for complaining about Cherry’s conduct. The Trial Court Decision The matter went to trial in February 2012. The jury deadlocked on the wrongful termination claim and the trial court declared a mistrial.

Your future is in the executive suites of television networks and the officialdom of the National Football League. The only requirement is that you have the ability to make self-righteous pronouncements about public morality and taste while maintaining your composure and never once betraying yourself with so much as a hint of a smile. Even, the now fashionable smirk, will not be tolerated. If you get really good at this and have a relative in the cabinet you might even be appointed to head the FCC. This week's firestorm over the opening skit on Monday Night Football has produced a festival of hypocrisy, a cornucopia of foolishness, and a tribute to the sheer idiocy of what passes itself off as the guardianship of public morality.

Hester ii MALE BONDING: A QUEER ANALYSIS OF THE JAMES BOND CANON by Grant C. Hester This dissertation was prepared under the direction of the candidate's dissertation advisor, Dr. Jane Caputi, Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Communication, and Multimedia and has been approved by the members of his supervisory committee. It was submitted to the faculty of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and was accepted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Khaled Sobhan, Ph.D. Interim Dean, Graduate College iii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Jane Caputi for guiding me through this process. She was truly there from this paper’s incubation as it was in her Sex, Violence, and Hollywood class where the idea that James Bond could be repressing his homosexuality first revealed itself to me. She encouraged the exploration and was an unbelievable sounding board every step to fruition. Stephen Charbonneau has also been an invaluable resource. Frankly, he changed the way I look at film. His door has always been open and he has given honest feedback and good advice. Oliver Buckton possesses a knowledge of James Bond that is unparalleled. I marvel at how he retains such information.
