DBS Foundation was established in 2012 to ensure that our School will continue to have sustainable resources available to advance, enhance, and promote all aspects of education for future generations of DBS boys.

The Foundation is a company limited by guarantee incorporated on 7th December 2012. The management and administration of the Foundation is shared between five Sub-committees, each reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

The Sub-committees are: Governance and Accountability

Every gift regardless of size takes the School closer to its objective. The major project for the past year was the installation of a 4th Generation artificial turf on the School Field, completed in October 2016. The increase in the regular usage of the School Field by both Primary and Secondary Divisions had caused rapid deterioration of the original natural grass field. The artificial turf offers an apt solution by providing a safe condition for sports training and other activities without having to incur significant ongoing maintenance costs as in the case of natural grass. The whole project cost of HK$18 million project cost was funded by a generous donation in the form of a facility gift to the Foundation.

In addition, the Foundation has funded projects to improve teaching quality, learning environment and student support for both academic and extra-curricular activities. Major projects completed are highlighted below:

l Installed Wi-Fi network in laboratories, special rooms and IB Building of the Secondary Division l Purchased additional computers, smartboards, short focus projectors and computer software in the Secondary Division to encourage better interaction in teaching and classroom discussions l Built a multi-purpose dining room in the Secondary Division l Installed ventilation fans and carbon dioxide sensors in the Primary Division l Built a new store room and a creative laboratory for the Secondary Division l Increased greenery coverage across the School campus l Conversion works in Main Building, New Wing and S&D Building

In the coming year, we have commenced the installation of acoustic panels and additional lighting at the Auditorium with an estimated cost of HK$3.5million. The Foundation will continue to support ongoing initiatives to invest in staff development, technology upgrade, learning environment enhancement and student welfare.
