ENGLISH AND WESTERN TRAIL, LEVEL A English and Western Trail Instructions: 1. Enter cross roads at a WALK, turn RIGHT and pick up TROT. 2. TROT weaving through cones. 3. Return to WALK and enter square through gap on LEFT. 4. Cross square on diagonal, then exit square. 5. Pick up Ring in STAND with RIGHT HAND.. 6. Then pick up CANTER on STRAIGHT, turn LEFT past circle. 7. Come to TROT, TROT LEFT around CIRCLE, then RETURN to WALK. 8. Place ring on STAND with LEFT HAND. 9. HALT in BOX, horses head and tail must be in box. 10. WALK into cross roads and turn RIGHT. Go through FINISH.

POLE BENDING Start either to the right or to the left of the first pole and then run the remainder of the pattern accordingly. These instructions are for starting to the right of the first pole.
At the signal from the starter, the athlete will: 1. RUN (Level A & B) down the right side of the poles to the last pole in the line. 2. Turn the last pole to the left. 3. Weave the poles, passing them alternately right to left until reaching the first pole. 4. Turn the first pole to the right. 5. Weave the poles, passing alternately left then right until reaching the last pole. 6. Turn the last pole to the left and RUN (Level A &B) straight down the line of poles and cross the finish line.

SHOWMANSHIP 1. Set-up at Cone #1 2. On judges signal, walk to Cone #2, make a CIRCLE to the RIGHT, after making circle, HALT. 3. At judges signal, BACK-UP: - 6 steps BACK for Level A - 3 steps BACK for Levels B & C. 4. Curve around Cone #3 and WALK (Levels B & C) or TROT (Level A) to Judge at Cone #4 5. Halt at Cone #4 and Set-up for Judges Inspection. 6. At Judges signal, turn 90 DEGREES to the RIGHT and exit the arena at a WALK (Levels B & C) or TROT (Level A).

Western Riding Instructions: 1. Enter in Arena, Start TROT 2. TROT to Cone #1 3. After passing Cone #1 start to WALK 4. Should be at a WALK by Cone #2 5. Walk parallel to arena fence 6. Walk around Cone #3, curving to LEFT 7. Continue WALK until Cone #4, HALT in Box 8. Upon exiting box, pick up a TROT 9. Continue to TROT by Cones #5-#12 10. HALT at Cone #13 11. At Judges signal, Exit Arena NOTE: LEVEL C, all walk. 12
