1/32 CZ-Historie V Roce 1936 Byl V Soutezi Prototypu Vybran Jako Standardni Stihacka Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109 NA VODI INS TRUCTION SH32009 Heinkel He 100D-1 (He 113 .Propaganda Jager") 1/32 CZ-Historie V roce 1936 byl v soutezi prototypu vybran jako standardni stihacka Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109. Pro Ernsta Heinkela to byla tSzka rana. Piivodnfi favorizovany He 112 zustal na druhem miste. Pro rekordni let ho nahradil He 100V-8. S timto strojem 31. bf ezna 1939 pilot Hans Dieterle pfekonal rychlosti 746,606 km/h absolutni svgtovy rekord V ramci utajeni byl stroj oznaCen He 112U. 26. dubna 1939 tento rekord pfekonal rychlosti 755 km/h Messerschmitt Bf 209V-1. Dalsi rychlostni pokusy byly Heinkelovi zakazany. Pfitom He 100 by byl pfi stejnych podminkach rekordniho letu patrnS rychlejSi. To ale konstrukce He 100 neumozfiovala. Heinkel postavil tedy alespofi tfi pfedseriove stroje a dvanact seriovych. Tfi stroje zakoupila japonska delegace, spoleinS s licen&iimi pravy. Sovetska delegace zakoupila pet kusu. Zbyle poslouzily v rozsahle propagandisticke kampani na ,,novy super vy-konny stihac Luftwaffe". Stroje byly filmovany s postupne tfemi symboly neexistujicich jednotek Luftwaffe. Udajny novy typ dostal oznaceni Heinkel He 113. Pod tim by! tak6 veden v mnoha spojeneckych rozpoznavacich pfiruckach. Ackoli se nedostal do skutefrieho boje, mnoho spojeneckych pilotu ohlasilo pozorovani nebo souboj s He 113. It was a hard blow for Ernst Heinkel The formerly preferred. He 112 dropped to the second place. Because Heinkel wanted to prove his company ability to built faster fighter, without official commission he started to develop next aircraft as his private project. Brothers Gfmters were entrusted with design works on P 1035 project. When Walter Giinter died during car accident, only Siegfried continued on the project. Designated Heinkel He 100, the new fighter's construction combined all up to date features. Big concern was placed on whole aircraft's aerodynamic streamlining. The most noticeable was utilization of surface cooling. Following design drawings and 1/1 scale mock-up RLM had ordered four prototypes to be build. The first prototype designated He 100V-1 took off for the first time on 22nd January 1938. The aircraft was heavily tested and modified on the run. Ernst Udet Flying in He 100V-2 broke the speedrecord on the 100 km distance. He achieved average speed of 634.73 km/h. The He 100V-3 prototype powered by special DB-601R engine and shorter span wings was prepared for the absolute speed record. Thanks to the undercarriage malfunction this prototype was lost. For the absolute speedrecordit was replaced by He 100V-8. On 31st March 1939 Hans Dieterle piloting this machine broke the absolute World Speed Record achieving 746.606 km'k In respect of confidentiality this machine was designated He 112U. This record was surpassed on 26th April 1939 by Messerschmitt Bf209V-l. Further speed tests were forbidden to Heinkel. But at the same lime and same conditions the He 100 would be most probably faster. Next prototypes designated V-4 to V-10 were built as fighters. Their performances were considerably high but the surface cooling was unreliable. Further some of the flight characteristics were not peifect. But Heinkel reckon with batch production and already ordered the preparation works. DB 601 engines necessary for Bf 109s started to be insufficient when the war had broken out. RLM had announced that they will permit the batch production only in case different powerplant will be used. He 100 structure wasn 't capable of containing different engine so Heinkel built just three pre-production and 12 productionmachines. Three aircraft were purchased by Japanese delegation together with license rights. The Soviet delegation purchased five aircraft. Hughes Page 218 Correct Lieutenant Hughes To: Second Lieutenant Lloyd H. Hughes Page 357 Correct Hughes, Lloyd D., 215, 218 To: Hughes, Lloyd H., 215, 218 Foreword In the last decade of the twentieth century, the United States Air Force commemorates two significant benchmarks in its heritage. The first is the occasion for the publication of this book, a tribute to the men and women who served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War 11. The four years between 1991 and 1995 mark the fiftieth anniversary cycle of events in which the nation raised and trained an air armada and com- mitted it to operations on a scale unknown to that time. With Courage: U.S.Army Air Forces in World War ZZ retells the story of sacrifice, valor, and achievements in air campaigns against tough, determined adversaries. It describes the development of a uniquely American doctrine for the application of air power against an opponent's key industries and centers of national life, a doctrine whose legacy today is the Global Reach - Global Power strategic planning framework of the modern U.S. Air Force. The narrative integrates aspects of strategic intelligence, logistics, technology, and leadership to offer a full yet concise account of the contributions of American air power to victory in that war.

Once deprived of their Bf 109 escorts, the German bombers were acutely vulnerable to the predations of British Spitfires and Hurricanes. © Osprey Publishing • www.ospreypublishing.com he story of the German Luftwaffe (Air Force) has been an abiding focus of military Thistorians since the end of World War II in 1945. It is not difficult to see why. Like many aspects of the German war machine, the Luftwaffe was a crowning achievement of the German rearmament programme. During the 1920s and early 1930s, the air force was a shadowy organization, operating furtively under the tight restrictions on military development imposed by the Versailles Treaty. Yet through foreign-based aircraft design agencies, civilian air transport and nationalistic gliding clubs, the seeds of a future air force were nevertheless kept alive and growing in Hitler’s new Germany, and would eventually emerge in the formation of the Luftwaffe itself in 1935. The nascent Luftwaffe thereafter grew rapidly, its ranks of both men and aircraft swelling under the ambition of its commander-in-chief, Hermann Göring.

Would love to see more of you here at Squadron next year! As we simmer through the end of summer, we are excited to bring you a number of new things in this flyer. First of all, you won’t want to miss the debut of our expanded accessories line – Squadron Dioramix – featured on the back cover. These highly detailed accessories for dioramas and models are the pure magic of Jef Verswyvel. Sculpted by hand and produced here in Carrollton, you will not be sorry to add these to your projects.
