These notes are based upon 3 meetings on the 11th March 2016. This document will ultimately form an appendix to the final report for ‘The Operator’s Story’ piece. Although the findings have been arranged and structured by Imperial College London, they remain a collation of thoughts and statements from interviewees, and continue to be the opinions of those interviewed, rather than of Imperial College London. Prefacing the notes is a summary of Imperial College’s key findings based on comments made, which will be drawn out further in the final report for ‘The Operator’s Story’. Method This content is a collation in note form of views expressed in the interviews that were conducted for this study. This mini case study does not attempt to provide a comprehensive picture of Guangzhou Metropolitan Corporation (GMC), but rather focuses on specific topics of interest to The Operators’ Story project. Gu Zongpei The understanding of Beijing Cultural Spaces 49th ISOCARP Congress 2013 The understanding of Beijing Cultural Spaces Zongpei GU, China academy of urban planning and design, China “The enduring competitive advantages in a global economy lie increasingly in local things.”1 With the progress of globalization, urban culture becomes increasingly important. Beijing has a long history and rich cultural resources. But the space vectors of her cultural resources are being invaded in the process of urban growth. In the end of 2011, the municipal government decided to ―turn Beijing into a city of prestigious cultural center of national demonstration and promotion and international significance.‖ 2 Building such a ―Culture-enriched Beijing‖ pose an urgent quest to reexamine and analyze the current status of the city’s urban cultural space against the background of the new era. 1. Identification of Beijing’s Current Urban Cultural Space “A nation’s cultural renaissance starts with a summary of its legacy.”3 Beijing’s long history and rich cultural resources laid a solid foundation for her cultural construction. An empirical study of the current status of her urban cultural space is the basis and prerequisite for further analysis. This article will discuss the current status of Beijing’s urban cultural space from her historical cultural space and contemporary-modern urban cultural space in a time sequence. 1.1 Historical Cultural Space Before the establishment of People’s Republic of China, Beijing’s historical cultural resources can be divided into ancient time (before the opium war in 1840) and modern time(1980 – 1949). 1.1.1 Ancient Time Beijing’s history as a city can be traced back to more than 3,000 years ago. -

The seminar aims to establish an international platform for academic exchanges among APEC economies, and therefore builds collaborations among multi-disciplinary like clinical and basic medicines, disease control and prevention, and also medical researches and drug development. Urban public transportation plays a very important role in contemporary social travel, which means one the social development and progress of a public transport is urban rail transit -- metro. This study from Xiamen city metro which was just in the beginning, it took the selection from the service quality as a measure, it effective combined the PZB service quality gap model with the model of IPA, it first found out its quality elements by using PZB service quality gap model, and then analyzed the service quality evaluation through the IPA model. The problems in the service process are found out, in order to solve these problems, the decision methods that can improve these problems are proposed. Introduction Urban rail traffic not only meets the needs of residents, but also represents the development level of a city and the living standard of local residents. Quality service can improve customer perception, to meet the psychological needs of passengers and generate positive effects such as customer loyalty. Xiamen metro is in the service of urban rail transit system in Xiamen, Fujian province, China. Xiamen metro’s line 1, with a total length of about 267 kilometers, opened on December 31, 2017. -

Five in-depth case studies (Hongkong, Tokyo-Narita, London- Heathrow, Chicago- O’Hare and Paris-Charles de Gaulle) and eight smaller case studies (Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai-Pudong, Bangkok, Beijing, Rome- Fiumicino, Istanbul-Atatürk and Munich- Franz Josef Strauss) are conducted. The thesis builds on existing literature that compares airport-rail links by explicitly considering the influence of the institutional environment of an airport on its ground access situation and by paying special attention to recently opened dedicated airport expresses in Asia. -

Journal of Advanced Research in Social Sciences and Humanities Volume 5, Issue 5 (172-184) DOI: https://dx.doi.org/10.26500/JARSSH-05-2020-0502 A study on fashion street in Beijing- Through street fashion and its images YONGLI HAO*, EUN-YOUNG SHIN 1 Graduate School of Fashion and Living Environment Studies, Bunka Gakuen University, Tokyo, Japan 2 Deptartmet of Fashion Sociology, Bunka Gakuen University, Tokyo, Japan Abstract Aim: This study focuses on Beijing, one of the top Chinese fashion cities, especially Guomao and Sanlitun, which draw attention to their fashion streets. Method: To achieve the aim, the scholar analyzed and investigated their fashion street images and the four influential factors which create the images of street fashion: social backgrounds based on bibliographic data, physical environments, surrounding factors, and human and cultural factors from the fashion consciousness survey. Findings: This study shows that while Guomao is grown into an upscale calm fashion street for adults, Sanlitun is developed as a fashion street for trendy young adults. However, both areas have a short history, and it’s hard to say their street cultures were born naturally. Generally, one place creates its unique image based on its street image, but Beijing’s fashion streets were intentionally created according to government policy. In other words, in addition to the social backgrounds, physical environments, surrounding factors, and human and cultural factors shown by many preceding studies, policy factors played an extremely critical role, and they dominated other factors, which differentiate the fashion streets in Beijing from other developing countries’ fashion streets. Implications/Novel Contribution: This study will provide some inspiration for other developing countries’ economic and fashion development.
