As the largest engineering design centre in Europe, we provide state-of-the-art solutions for the modern industry, combining the technological potential of our organisation with cutting-edge digital technologies. They are present in almost all the aspects of our activities and contribute to the transformation of business processes. There is no doubt that the use of such technologies requires changes not only in the technical realm but also in organisation, communication with employees and clients, as well as in education and competence acquisition. By cooperating with GE and drawing inspiration from its activities and experience, we make use of tools that support the collection and analysis of data sets, or the so-called Internet of Things. We facilitate the flow of data between devices and develop software for data processing, analysis and presentation. Taking a leaf out of GE’s book, we are committed to transforming our activities based on machines and solutions incorporating intelligent software, thereby allowing for better and more reliable communication. We are active in various areas, for instance in aviation (GE Aviation), including activities related to aviation systems (Aviation Systems) and software (Aviation Digital), in transportation (GE Transportation), in the oil industry (GE Oil & Gas) and in the power industry (GE Power). DETERMINATION OF MERGER NOTIFICATION M/14/032 - GE / MILESTONE Section 21 of the Competition Act 2002 Proposed acquisition of Milestone Aviation Group Limited by GE Capital Aviation Funding Dated 12 December 2014 Introduction 1. On 7 November 2014, in accordance with section 18(1) of the Competition Act 2002, as amended 1 (“the Act”), the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (“Commission”) received a notification of a proposed transaction whereby General Electric Company (“GE”), through its wholly-owned indirect subsidiary GE Capital Aviation Funding ("GECAF"), would acquire all the issued shares in Milestone Aviation Group Limited (“Milestone”) and all of its subsidiaries. The Undertakings Involved The Acquirer – GE 2. GE is a global, diversified technology and services public company incorporated in the United States. GE is divided into a number of business units, each of which has its own divisions. Its primary business units include: GE Energy Management, GE Power & Water, GE Oil & Gas, GE Healthcare, GE Aviation, GE Transportation, GE Capital and GE Home & Business Solutions. 3. GE is active globally in the following sectors: aircraft engines, consumer products, specialty materials, power systems, industrial systems, medical systems, plastics, broadcasting, financial services and transportation systems. 4. Most of GE’s main business segments operate within the State. 2006 ANNUAL REPORT WHO WE ARE AIRCASTLE IS A GLOBAL COMPANY THAT ACQUIRES AND LEASES HIGH-UTILITY COMMERCIAL JET AIRCRAFT TO PASSENGER AND CARGO AIRLINES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. High-utility aircraft are generally modern, operationally efficient jets with a large operator base and long useful lives. As of December 31, 2006, our aircraft portfolio consisted of 69 aircraft that were leased to 32 lessees located in 23 countries and managed through our offices in the United States, Ireland and Singapore. We also make investments in other aviation assets, including debt securities secured by commercial jet aircraft. As of March 31, 2007, we had acquired and committed to acquire aviation assets having an aggregate purchase price equal to $2.24 billion and $1.43 billion, respectively, for a total of approximately $3.67 billion.
