[email protected]. “CONVERTED CO-ETHNICS”: ROMANIAN MIGRANTS IN THE NORTHERN SERBIAN PROVIENCE OF VOJVODINA 1 by Aleksandra Djurić-Milovanović Aleksandra Djurić-Milovanović is an anthropologist working as an Associate Research Professor at the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. She earned her PhD in ethnology and anthropology (2012) from the University of Belgrade. In 2017 she was a Visiting Professor at the University College Cork in Ireland. Her academic research has been focused on the anthropology of religion, religion and migration, and contemporary evangelical movements in Serbia and Romania. Her recent publications include: Distinctive Aspects of the Religion and Ethnicity of Romanians in Vojvodina, Orthodox Christian Renewal Movements in Eastern Europe (co-editor with Radmila Radić, and most recently The Romanian Orthodox Church in the Yugoslav Banat between Two World Wars, co-author with Mircea Maran.
