Article Info Received on 21-November-2019, Revised on 12-December-2019, Accepted on 21-December-2019, Published on 26-December-2019. ABSTRACT In this paper we shed light on the advancement in Virtual Reality devices and talk about six latest developments. Virtual reality (VR) is a technology that allows a user to interact with a simulated computer environment, whether that environment is a simulation of the real world or an imaginary world. It is the key to experiencing, feeling and touching the past, the present and the future. It is the means of creating our own world, our own personalized reality. It could range from creating a videogame to taking a virtual tour of the universe, from walking through our own dream house to experiencing a walk through a strange planet. With virtual reality, we can experience the most intimidating and exhausting situations by playing safely and with a learning perspective. However, very few people really know what virtual reality is, what are its basic principles and its open problems.

  • Creating Accessibility in VR with Reused Motion Input
Replay to Play: Creating Accessibility in VR with Reused Motion Input A Technical Report presented to the faculty of the School of Engineering and Applied Science University of Virginia by Cody Robertson May 8, 2020 On my honor as a University student, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this assignment as defined by the Honor Guidelines for Thesis-Related Assignments. Signed: ___________________________________________________ Approved: ______________________________________ Date _______________________ Seongkook Heo, Department of Computer Science Replay to Play: Creating Accessibility in VR with Reused Motion Input Abstract Existing virtual reality (VR) games and applications tend not to factor in accommodations for varied levels of user ability. To enable users to better engage with this technology, a tool was developed to record and replay captured user motion to reduce the strain of complicated gross motor motions to a simple button press. This tool allows VR users with any level of motor impairment to create custom recordings of the motions they need to play VR games that have not designed for such accessibility. Examples of similar projects as well as recommendations for improvements are given to help round out the design space of accessible VR design. Introduction In many instances, high-end in-home virtual reality is synonymous with a head-mounted display (HMD) on the user’s face and motion-tracked controllers, simulating the hand’s ability to grip and hold objects, in a user’s hands. This is the case with all forms of consumer available HMD that is driven by a traditional computer rather than an integrated computer, including the Oculus Rift, Valve Index, HTC Vive, the variously produced Windows Mixed Reality HMDs, and Playstation VR with the Move Controllers.

Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Nasdaq Selects Nutanix AHV with Platform Speeds Provisioning, Improves Performance, and Built-in Virtualization for Rapidly Simplifies Management – with a 25% Lower TCO Growing Splunk Environment CHALLENGES Jake Yang is the senior director of global systems and storage at Nasdaq. He and his team of 35 IT professionals are responsible for managing Nasdaq’s Linux, UNIX, and Windows OS platforms, and all of its storage infrastructure. Nasdaq had been relying on a typical multi-tier server and storage platform, with a large number of Dell servers and several proprietary systems. The environ- ment had been virtualized using a mix of VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and the KVM open source hypervisor. A combi-nation of Fibre Channel and dedicated Ethernet networks was used for all tier-1 and tier-2 storage, with network-attached storage for various other workloads. “Our IT challenges have always centered on agility, performance, and cost,” reported Yang. “We needed the ability to scale service to our internal customers in a more efcient and faster manner. With our traditional SAN environment, provisioning storage was a multi-step process. There were a lot of background tasks that had to be completed, including carving out LUNs, configuring the storage network fabric, and setting up I/O multipathing.” Most of the steps were transparent to Nasdaq’s end-user teams—they just knew that it took a very long time for the storage to be provisioned. Deploying a new storage controller into the datacenter was usually a multi-week efort, and that didn’t even include the time it took for Nasdaq’s internal procurement processes.

So what does Bain say to its clients? Leads | By Remapping Debate | Economy, Politics Jan 18, 2012 — Does it really make sense to take at face value the statements made by and on be- half of Mitt Romney as he and his campaign try to place a positive spin on his tenure at Bain Capital? The other element is to turn his vulnerability on profiting from American job losses to the kind of “he said, she said” story that many like to serve up as evidence of evenhandedness. As has been reported, “Mr. Romney as of late has defended his record at the firm. He has touted the success of some businesses, including Staples, and said job losses at others were unfortunate.” If there are two sides to the story, they certainly do not seem balanced: companies did shed jobs on the advice or at the direction of Bain, and job gains at some companies in which B ain invested did not necessarily mean a net gain for the economy (company A gaining jobs and market share at the expense of company B does not increase overall job numbers).
