Ciljevi ovog rada su: (1) ispitati obilježja i motivaciju posjetitelja Adventa u Zagrebu, (2) utvrditi utjecaj Adventskog sajma na razvoj turizma u Zagrebu i (3) ispitati stavove lokalnog stanovništva o prostornoj transformaciji grada pod utjecajem Adventa u Zagrebu. U početnom dijelu prikazane su osnovne teorijske pretpostavke razvoja manifestacijskog turizma u gradovima i urbanog turizma općenito. U radu su prikazani primjeri godišnjeg rasporeda manifestacija u europskim gradovima Budimpešti i Zagrebu koji su doveli do intenzivnog razvoja turizma.
