For Immediate Release November 13, 2012 Fan Q & A with JIM MARTIN, Formerly of FAITH NO MORE After a silence of over a decade, Jim Martin agreed to a Q&A session with fans via a British based fan site. A set of 15 questions were selected by administrators of the fan site from over 500 submissions by fans eager to hear from Jim. What follows is a Q&A session with Jim Martin, former Faith No More guitar player, songwriter, and producer, and fans of Faith No More. Some weeks ago, the FNM “fan club guy” was asking about how to contact me, he wanted to talk to me about the fan page.. After several exchanges via email, he and I decided to do a Q&A thing for the fans. My departure from FNM in 1993 was controversial; I left while the band was still at the peak of its success. I am proud of my contributions to the success and legacy of FNM. I appreciate the time and effort it took to put these questions together. Thank you for the opportunity 1. A: Performing with Bo Diddly, Klaus Mein, Metallica, Gary Rossington, Pepper Keenan Sean Kinney Jerry Cantrell John Popper Jason Newstead, singing Misfits songs with Metallica live during our tour with them and GNR. 2. Eric Land Q: You are an influence to many younger guitarists today, but who were your biggest influences and what do you remember about how those people helped to craft your sound and play style? A: My influences to a greater extent were Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and David Gilmore.

  • The Replacements Bible
THE REPLACEMENTS bible version 1.4 this is an document of copyrighted material for educational/research purposes only You are encouraged to utilize the Bookmarks for navigation Brats in Babylon THE REPLACEMENTS By Ralph Heibutzki Goldmine, October 29, 1993 Saturday, January 18, 1986: After a trying time with the people of NBC's Saturday Night Live, Replacements guitarist Bob Stinson decides to cut loose and make himself at home in his New York City hotel room. "We got there at the [Omni] Berkshire [Hotel], and all our rooms got flowers and fruit—it's like, 'bad move, guys,’” he says recalling the accident. By the time Stinson finishes making himself at home, it costs $1,000 to replace a broken window, door and phone. The carnage isn't major, but doesn't endear the Replacements to Saturday Night producer Lorne Michaels, who vows, “No band from Warner Brothers is playing on my show again unless you guys pay for it.” Warner Brothers antes up without fuss. "We were a troublesome bunch,” says Stinson. "They picked us up in the stock limousine. They knew we were going to immediately start drinking, which we did. And they wouldn’t let us off the floor — ‘Anything you need, let us know’- and it’s like, ‘Okay, gimme about four (studio) pages and I'll feel better.' Yeah, we were totally abusive of their privileges.” Later that night, Stinson and company—his bassist/brother, Tommy, singer/guitarist, Paul Westerberg; and drummer Chris Mars—throw timing and tuning aside during "Bastards Of Young" and "Kiss Me On The Bus” in a classic clip reflecting a long day of mismatched sensibilities and mutual hostility.

  • Deftones Discography and Songlist
deftones discography and songlist I’ve been a Deftones fanatic for years now. A recordstore in Amsterdam was selling ‘Adrenaline’ after it just came out and were promoting it by putting a small handwritten sticker on the cover saying ‘For fans of Helmet’. Maybe I have to be thankfull to the person who put the sticker on it, cuz it made me buy it and ever since that moment I’ve been hooked on Deftones and everything about them. After a few cancellations in 1996 the band finally did their first European Tour in 1997, also the first time I saw them live. That even proved me more that this band was something special and from that moment on I bought every t-shirt and every item which had to do with the band. In 1999 me and my long-time buddy Thijz, a Deftones fan also, build a website (www.dutchdeftones.com R.I.P.) to expose all the stuff we knew and own about the band and share it with other fans. Other fans could send in photo’s and information to make the site a great source for more fans. By that time another great fansite was born called www.deftonesworld.com. That website is still alive and is maintained by my Portugese pal Nuno Rolinho. Also de fansite is still famous for being the best website/source for Deftonesfans out there. I will be honest to say that I thought that the power and energy, the first Deftones live performances where famous for, died a little round 2001 but still, on recordings Deftones remained an outstanding, fresh band, re-inveniting themselves all the time.
