STUDY TOUR 2019-20

Chennai – Mahabalipuaram - Pondecherry.

College study tour 2019-20 was held at Chennai-Mahabalipuaram-Pondecherry. This study tour was arranged for students to explore the culture of the city and identify characters of structures.

CHENNAI MUSEUM- The Government Museum is a museum of human history and culture located in in Chennai.It is the second oldest museum in India.

BASILICA CHURCH CHENNAI -

San Thome Church, also known as St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica and National Shrine of Saint Thomas is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Santhome, in the city of Chennai.Architectural styles: Gothic architecture.

KAPALEESHWARAR TEMPLE AT CHENNAI –

Kapaleeshwarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva. The temple is the most ancient one that has been built around the 7th century CE in Dravidian architecture.

DakshinaChitra at Chennai -

DakshinaChitra is a living-history museum in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, dedicated to South Indian heritage and culture. It is located 25 KM from Chennai.

MAHABALIPURAM - one of the oldest cities in india and is known for its various stone carved monuments and ancients temples.

The lighthouse -

The lighthouse with a circular masonry tower made of natural stone became fully functional.

THE MATRIMANDIR -

The Matrimandir is an edifice of spiritual significance for practitioners of Integral yoga, in the centre of Auroville established by The Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

FRENCH COLONY AT PONDICHERRY –

The French styled architecture is suited for this town because of the salubrious weather with its long and huge windows with vertical cast iron bars as grills, ornate balconies, large courtyards, circular arched gates, columns, engaged columns and stucco designs.

PONDICHERRY BEACH - Rock Beach is the popular stretch of beachfront in the city of Puducherry It is a 1.2- kilometre-long stretch in Pondicherry, starts from War Memorial and end at Dupleix Park on the Goubert Avenue.
