Ministry of Home Affairs-Major Achievements, significant Development and important events for the month of January,2021.

Hon’ ble President of has approved conferment of 119 Padma Awards on the occasion of -2021. The list comprises 7 , 10 and 102 Padma Shri Awards.

2. Union Home Minister launched the Ayushman CAPF’ scheme on 23.01.2021 at Guwahati, Assam.

3. The inaugural issue of "National Police K-9 Journal" has been released by Hon'ble Union Home Minister on 02.01.2021. It is a biannual journal which will be released in April and October every year.

4. Union Home Secretary had a meeting with Mr Matthew John Rycroft, Permanent Secretary, Home Office of the UK on 15th January, 2021 through VC. Issues of mutual interest including anti-India activities of UK based pro-Khalistani extremist organizations and safety of the Indian High Commission in London were discussed.

5. Union Home Secretary chaired the 49th meeting of High Level Empowered Committee held on 18thJanuary,2021 at North Block, New Delhi for border infrastructure projects.

6. President's Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Gallantry, President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Correctional Service Medals on prison personnel etc., were awarded to the State/Union Territories/CAPF Officers/Personnei on the occasion of Republic Day - 2021.

7. Union Home Minister's Trophy for Best Police Training Institutions in India were awarded for the years 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Police training for the year 2020 has been awarded to 277 State Police/CAPE/CPO police personnel.

8. During the month, sanctions for prosecution for filing the charge sheet against 50 accused persons were accorded in accordance with section 45(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and section 188 of CrPC.

9. Advisory dated 12.01.2021 was issued for strict compliance of the provisions of Flag Code of India, 2002 and the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and for not using the National Flag made of plastic.

10. Advisory on Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules, 2020 was issued on 21.01.2021 to all States & UTs to initiate necessary measures in terms of the Act and undertake sensitization programmes for the police and prison officials.

11. One Advisory was issued to the State Government/CAPFs to sensitize them to counter the LWE activities in the LWE affected areas. 12. A meeting was held by Additional Secretary (Police Modernization) with the Controlling Authorities of States/UTs (under PSAR Act, 2005) on 4.1.2021 on enforcement of the Act.

13. CCTNS software has been deployed at 15,773 out of 16,156 Police Stations across the country, i.e. 98%. Around 15,568 Police Stations are entering 100% FIRs through CCTNS, i.e. 96%. Connectivity is available at 15,645 Police Stations i.e. 97%. CCTNS National Data Centre is getting data from 36 States/UTs. Data digitization of 3.90 crore records have been completed, i.e. 91% of the total target.

14. On behalf of all CAPFs, a MoU has been signed by ITBP with KVIC to procure Cotton Durries (initial demand of 1,71,520 Nos. for all CAPFs worth Rs.8.7 Cr.) on 06.01.2021.

15. Target fixation meeting with OFB and all CAPFs, CPOs, SPOs and UTPs was organized on 22.01.2021 to finalize targets for supply of arms & ammunitions and explosives from OFB for next financial year i.e. 2021-22. This is a major step in the direction of procuring arms & ammunitions etc. from an indigenous source.

16. Standing Committee on GeM (SCoGeM) meeting under Chairmanship of AS&FA(F1) was organized on 20/01/2021 with IsG level officers of all CAPFs/CPOs. All organizations were advised to procure all items (except sensitive) on GeM Portal through the new functionality "Custom Bid" enabled by GeM.

17. Agreement between NCRB and PwC was signed on 12th January, 2021 for development of course content for NCTC (National Cybercrime Training Centre). The kick-off meeting was held on 18th January, 2021.

18. An order extending the validity of guidelines for COVID-19 surveillance, containment and caution up to 28.02.2021 was issued on 27.01.2021.
