The team is also clearing the road of felled trees and downed lines. Dolores is 65 kilometers away from Borongan. Along the road of Borongan and San Julian there are a few reported injuries but no reported deaths. Secretary Roxas was able to speak to San Julian Ezekiel Fritz Aseo and the mayor confirmed that there are no reported deaths in his town.

7 Dec: COMMUNICATIONS and POWER 6:00pm - NDRRMC published Situation Report 8 - which reports total of 11 provinces in the following regions are experiencing power outages. Region IV-A (), Region 5 (Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate, , Camarines Sur, Region VI (Iloilo), Region VIII (Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte, ). In addition, Globe and SMART network outages are reported in some parts of Leyte and Eastern Samar.

9:08pm - A video report by Volataire Tupaz for Rappler does show that roads in the province Leyte are impassable because to river swells causing flooding in the town of Dagami. Local farmers declared floodwaters have reached as high as 8 feet, brought by the mountain rivers Sawahon, Binahaan, and Hiabangan. The report shows the province is still vulnerable to typhoon after Yolanda came. (source)

2:30pm - Major General Jet Velarmino, commander of the 8th Infantry Battalion, told Rappler on Sunday that the road blocked by a landslide in town, on the western side of Samar, was cleared at around 2:30 pm on Sunday, which would pave the way for the arrival of relief goods, medicine, and medical teams to Borongan in Eastern Samar on Monday, December 8. 6 Dec: WEATHER 9:15pm - Typhoon #RubyPH made landfall over Dolores, Eastern Samar at 9:15 p.m., December 6, 2014. (source) 11:00am - PAGASA expects Ruby to be of landfall early Sunday morning, with treats of strong winds, storm surge (up to 4.5 meters) and heavy intense rain. Though it has slightly weakened, maximum sustained winds can reach up to 185 kph and gustiness of up to 220 kph. Parts of Eastern Visayas have experienced power outages. About 50,000 have fled in anticipation of the oncoming storm.

Background During the afternoon of November 29, 2014, a tropical disturbance formed just to the south of the Federated States of Micronesia. The system was upgraded to a tropical storm on December 1. The storm continued to move towards the west-northwest and strengthen, and became Typhoon Hagupit* on December 2 and Super Typhoon Hagupit on December 3. Its speed was 149 mph. On December 4, the Philippine Government began evacuations of areas most at risk.

On December 5, Hagupit was approximately 200 miles east of the Eastern Samar province. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) identified 47 of the country's 81 provinces as “high risk” from Hagupit and warned that some of the could experience storm surges at least one-story high.

and is expected to make its third landfall in Manila and the provinces within the next 24 hours. (Hagupit made its first landfall late Saturday night in eastern Samar, and made a second landfall Sunday in the city of Cataingan on the island of Masbate.) As of 5:00 am on Monday, Hagupit had maximum sustained winds of 74 mph near the center and gusts of up to 93 mph. Residents in low-lying and mountainous areas are being advised of the potential for flash floods and landslides and coastal residents are advised of the potential for storm surges up to 10 feet.
