A n A ct authorizing t h e t r a n s f e r of la n d s of t h e CITY OF BOSTON TO THE GEORGE ROBERT WHITE FUND.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Sectio n 1. Any land or part thereof acquired by 2 eminent domain or by purchase, and held by the city 3 of Boston for public purposes, or any land acquired 4 by said city through the foreclosure of tax title may 5 be transferred for a nominal consideration on the 6 written recommendation of the or board having 7 charge of such land, by order of the city council, 8 approved by the mayor of said city, to the George 9 Robert White fund to be held by said fund upon 10 acceptance thereof by vote of the trustees of the 11 George Robert White fund for public charitable 12 purposes, and subject to the following conditions: — 13 (1) the George Robert White fund will establish on 14 any parcel of land transferred, as herein authorized, 15 a work of public utility and beauty for the use and 2 HOUSE — No. 2130. 16 enjoyment of the inhabitants of the city of Boston 17 in accordance with the provisions of the will of George 18 Robert White; and (2) provided that the George 19 Robert White fund fails to enter upon any parcel of 20 land transferred as herein authorized within the 21 period of two years from the date of such transfer 22 for the purposes of establishing thereon such work, 23 then said transfer shall be void and of no effect.

1 Sec tio n 2. The city of Boston is authorized to 2 provide for the current expense of the care and 3 maintenance of any work or works established by 4 the George Robert White fund on any land trans- 5 ferred to said fund as provided in section one.

1 Sec tio n 3. This act will take effect upon its 2 acceptance by vote of the city council of the city of 3 Boston, subject to the provisions of its charter and 4 by vote of the trustees of the George Robert White 5 fund.
