We are very proud to say that in 2014, the Buddy Program passed a major milestone by serving 1,098 youth and their families. This is a 13% increase from 2013, and the first time we served more than one thousand youth in our forty-two year history. This makes the Buddy Program the second-largest mentoring organization in the state of Colorado, behind only Big Brothers Big Sisters of Denver. A lot has changed at the Buddy Program and we invite you to take a new look at all that we do! MY MENTOR, PETER, has always told me to keep my head up and work hard so that I can make The Buddy Program has grown into much more than a mentoring organization. While the core of what we do is still something of myself. He noticed my potential mentoring, we are increasingly a social services organization, improving the lives of youth and their families in so many ways. We provide case management, scholarships, referrals to other agencies and even counseling to our Little Buddies and realized that I could achieve more than what and their families. Due to this extra support, our Buddy Pairs stay together for over four years on average, more than twice I was destined to be, which wasn’t much. Having the national average, and many of our pairs have been together for over ten years. gone through some life struggles I am proud We’ve also been busy launching new programs and revamping existing ones: to say that I didn’t give up. In addition to offering great camps and middle and high school activities, we now teach an Outdoor Leadership class at Roaring Fork High School. This class is designed, taught and funded by the Buddy Program, and represents a new way of nonprofits working together with schools.

■■ We’ve also been strengthening our traditional one-on-one mentoring programs, revamping and adding training for not just Big Buddies, but also parents and Little Buddies as well. ■■ Finally, our Peer-to-Peer Program that matches high school Big Buddies with middle and elementary school Little Buddies had nearly 500 youth enrolled in 2014!

We’ve grown our programs, increased our services, and are reaching more youth and families than ever, all with the same number of staff. We have worked hard to make our organization as efficient as possible. Our Board of Directors has grown to 21 (14 new since 2012), and Board giving has tripled.

We hope that this report inspires you to join us in our mission of empowering youth through THE TIME SPENT with my Little Buddy mentoring experiences in order to achieve their full potential. Most people can recall a person, in addition to their parents, who had a meaningful and positive impact – DOMINICK A., PEER-TO-PEER BIG BUDDY on them – someone who was a mentor.
