Made up of the youth organizations Diversify Our Narrative and GENup, we represent 10,000 youth leaders from across the State fighting for change. Our mission is to ensure that students across California high schools have meaningful opportunities to engage with the vast, diverse, and rich histories of people of color; and thus, we are in deep support of AB101 which will require high schools to provide ethnic studies starting in academic year 2025-26 and students to take at least one semester of an A-G approved ethnic studies course to graduate starting in 2029-30. Our original petition made in support of AB331, linked here, was signed by over 26,000 CA students and adult allies in support of passing Ethnic Studies. Please see appended to this letter our letter in support of AB331, which lists the names of all our original petition supporters. We know AB101 has the capacity to have an immense positive impact on student education, but also on student lives as a whole. For many students, our communities continue to be systematically excluded from narratives presented to us in our classrooms. By passing AB101, we can change the precedent of exclusion and allow millions of students to learn the histories of their peoples.

    IEditorial Four "gems" to remember • • • ENGLISH table tennis players, administrators, fans will not easily forget this campaign now drawing to a close. It was the season when we entered the Olympic Games in Seoul, England finally bounced back into the Super Division of the European League, when Sweden slayed the Chinese dragon, (at least in the men's game) by winning the Swaythling Cup and Jan-ave Waldner became the new world champion. A year ago we failed to win promotion again and then found that Hungary were a new barrier. As it happened, Belgium and Austria were the two nations we had to beat and this we did principally by the strength of our two young men Alan Cooke and Carl Prean. Both have had a season they can lookback on with pride - Alan captured the Commonwealth title in Cardiff and it was Carl who raised his game in Dortmund in the memorable match with Waldner when he reached 19-19 in all four games against the exquisite talent of the man who two days later, became the new champion of the world. Don Parker summed it all up in Dortmund when he said, "We are now in all the competitions amongst the top nations including the new men's world team cup as we finished ninth here in Germany. I am more than pleased with the group of teenagers now bidding for a place in the England squad headed by Michael O'Driscoll, Bradley Billington and Matthew Syed. They demonstrated in Cardiff that they are improving all the time.

    2018 ANNUAL REPORT BUILDING THE IDF COMMUNITY The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is the national patient organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of people with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PI) through advocacy, education and research. Building the IDF community is ever evolving and constant. First and foremost we empower the IDF community with knowledge and resources. Since 1980, we have fulfilled the basic needs of those diagnosed with PI: information and support. When someone faces a diagnosis of PI, IDF is here for them and guides them when they have questions. We provide content and programming beyond the essentials that is relevant and meaningful to the community—no matter their specific diagnosis. 2018 ANNUAL REPORT 2018 ANNUAL BUILDING THE IDF COMMUNITY BUILDING We educate those living with PI about advocating for themselves, from treatment to insurance issues. In 2018, our community grew stronger. We reached more people and promoted increased awareness of PI in the U.S and the world. We connected with those newly diagnosed and those who are not connected to IDF—but there are still more out there to reach. IDF serves as the voice of the PI community—we ask the tough questions and make sure our community is represented from public policy decisions to research opportunities. Building the IDF community now and in the years to come is made possible by the generosity of donors.
